perfect tool. Not for kids but they could use them. We live on a farm and occasionally have to examine animal poop (Yuk) but this is very clear to what is and what is not there.

This microscope was great value for the price in my opinion. I’m very happy with the top and bottom lighting. It’s easy to use, to focus, and teach to kids. Even my sullen teen was interested and engaged. It gets the job done and was fun and simple, what more can you ask for?My complaints are not big. One is the length of the power cord - pretty short if you’re not in a lab with outlets set into the table. The microscope must be used on a flat surface but you can barely reach the wall from the table with this.Also? It contained blank slides but no slide covers which is insane to me. I kept checking the box repeatedly thinking I’d missed something. I do believe the kit should have included slide covers and maybe a scalpel & some tweezers. For a few dollars more it could save the buyer the time and cost of having to go and buy a slide prep kit. From the description it seemed these things would be included. Comments even mention color filters being included which … well I didn’t get those. Maybe this was a return but truthfully it seems anything you get from Amazon these days is missing something.So yes buyers take note of those things but I still recommend the microscope.

Nice little microscope, fun to use, definitely isn’t a professional microscope, it’s quite small, and doesn’t have that level of visibility/focus so if your looking for a cheap professional microscope this isn’t it. But it’s perfect for kids with interest in science wanting to learn and for homeschooling purposes!

This is a fantastic microscope for beginners! The objectives are very clear, making it easy to view specimens. It’s simple to use, and I love that it has two different light options, which helps illuminate what we’re looking at. My kids have a blast using the microscope to learn more about random things we find around the house and yard.

This was primarily purchased for plastic model aircraft work. That being said precise measurements are not really needed and knowing the magnification is also not important as long as I can get the magnification that I need and as such it is doing what I purchased it for.The stand quality is better than expected, in fact quite study and adjustable, just keep a 1/2" wrench around as it is needed if you want to change the angle the scope is facing.As to the "scope" itself it is not quite as sturdy. The control buttons are not secure in their mounting i.e. the whole panel that they are soldered to moves inside the housing when a button is pushed. Moving control panels are not a good thing.Just a wish and not a show stopper is that the work area under the scope (part of the stand) be larger.This biggest flaw noticed is that it randomly, underline randomly, turns the camera off, the light stays on but there is no image displayed. This does become a pain if you are using both hands to position an object, you need to put it down, turn things back on and start repositioning again hoping the camera does not shut down again. There have been times when the camera did not shut down during use and times when it would shut down in fractions of a minute. This may be an artifact of the loose control panel but I think not because most times it happens when nothing has been touched on the display.Bottom line: It does what I bought if for and for the most part happy with my purchase.Edit: 9/12/22Overall I do like this as a work partner. Easy to use, fairly sturdy, nothing has broken, all pluses in my book. The biggest, underline BIGGEST, downfall is its random shutting off. As Murphy would have it it happens at the most inconvenient time. But as I am using it mostly for inspection it is not a show stopper however if I was doing some intricate solder work it probably would be.
