If I understand your question, I would say no. It might channel water away from the wall but any snow fall from the car would still likely reach the walls. The strip is not that high to prevent any splash of water and snow. Check height of product and check distance from wall.

Q: Did anyone have trouble with the silicone sealant that comes with the threshold seal? I wish it was not black.

The only trouble I had was that I didn't cut enough off the tube end on the first tube. I was trying to be super careful and neat. Almost killed me trying to squeeze out all that sealant. Second tube went much faster, and yes, I did get a little on me despite being careful. But if you get a LOT on you, you can convince your wife you've been working really hard out there! BTW, the excess that I got on top of the threshold in one place came off a week later by lightly rubbing with my hand. One reason I bought this brand was that it came with the sealer, so time will tell whether that was good stuff or not. I didn't want to just use regular silicone sealer since these thresholds are made from slightly different materials. I figured this was paired for a reason.
