Brilliant
After struggling for years to keep a large pond in the pond clear of common pond weed I found this amazing device. Does an excellent job. It is quite heavy to throw but not impossible. Does need a strong tug to operate the cutting action but again this is doable. Razor sharp so take care. Well worth the cost.

Did a perfect job
We have a large pond and in one afternoon it did a great job. Caused quite a bit of cloudiness in the water but that will settle. Fish came up to feed tonight. Guys who did it said easy to use best tool they’d ever used. So value for money for us to keep and use again.

I was sceptical - But I was proved wrong!
Have tried and made a huge variety of different products from drag rakes, my own double sided versions, capstan winches to drag harrows, purchased rotary roller and much larger home made version, even a long reach hedge cutter fixed to the front of a boat with electric outboard. All worked to a small extent some less so than others! Purchased rotary rake useless! So I unboxed this and put it together in about 10 mins, and went for a 5 min test in our heavily chocked (pond weed, mares tail and curly leafed pond weed, medieval fish ponds. The results well beyond my expectations, easy to throw - indeed so easy that I son found I needed an extra 15' of rope! Very easy to drag back. Throwing takes a little practice and care as can invert, but easy to recover as the angle of the blades then act as wings and lift it of the bottom. Intended to modify it when it arrived so rope exited through end of handle, but this had already been modified on arrival. Guard need two new holes made to allow to clip on as once assembled they don't slide on quite far enough to engage clips - not a problem but could have been easily remedied at factory end. At the end of the day my 5 min test lasted an hour and almost finished both ponds (approx 30 m diameter each with one island.) it was a hot morning. I am ready for a coffee but not totally knackered and I am 65kg 60+ year old. Would I recommend ? Yes, not cheap and there is a rip off version out there - don't touch it! Would I buy again - I don't think I will ever need to. Now just ned to wait for a breeze to blow the floating weed to the edge, else it will be back to the boat and a plastic rake with pipe wrap on the head to make it float.

Very effective
Highly effective and only tool to be able to do the task. However quite heavy and needs a strong arm to launch it.

Excellent at clearing Broad-Leaved Pondweed
The media could not be loaded. This weed razer is UNBELIEVABLE. We have a small lake that has had a number of weed problems over time, and our latest has been broad-leaved pondweed (Potamogeton natans). We have tried shading it with large black plastic sheets and pulling it up by hand, and after neither of these worked we thought we would try the weed razor. The weed razor is fairly heavy, but I (22 year old small female) can throw it to nearly the end of the provided rope. We also think if it was more lightweight it wouldnt do the job so well! It sinks to the bottom and then cuts everything in its path as you pull it back. We have thrown it from the side and from a small boat we have. Dragging behind the boat is not recommended, we just threw and then pulled back in from the boat. The only disadvantage of the weed razor as a weed removal tool is collecting up the weed after it has been cut. This is a big job - but for the benefits we have seen its well worth it! I have included a before video and after photo, after just a few sessions of cutting and pulling (we did also dredge a part of the lake - but the video shows the extent of our problem beforehand!)

This Gets The Job Done!!
I purchased this item to clear out massive amounts of weed in the pond in my backyard. Assembly was a breeze, and I didn't even need the instructions to do so (although my wife made me double-check my work against them after I put the rake together...yeah, you all know who runs the house). TThe blades are extremely sharp, which is a good thing when trying to slice through pond weeds. The sharpness of the blades does mean the users need to be very careful when using the rake. For safety during storage, the rake comes with two blade covers that slide on and clip into place, which prevents accidental cutting of oneself when those covers are on. The fact that those covers clip on is important as the clips prevent the covers from sliding off.Using the rake is fairly easy. It is a little large and heavy so my 5ft 2 130lb wife struggled with it but I'm 5ft 10 and 200lbs and had no issues throwing it around. There is a rope attached, which allowed me to literally throw the rake out into the pond further than the pole would reach. The rope appears to be sturdy and I imagine it will hold up well. The pole is solid and doesn't bend which helps when cutting through weeds.Through thin patches of weeds, the rake cut right through them with ease. Throwing the rake out and pulling it back in was a fairly good workout. Using it with just the pole was a lot easier but it didn’t allow me to reach out as far.The only issue I found was that when the patches of weeds were very thick, the rake wouldn’t cut through them. Instead, it would shift to the right and left, which is likely due to two factors. The first is the V shape of the two blades, which on thin patches of weeds allows the rake to better through them, but on a thick patch of weeds, it will guide the rake to one side or the other. The second factor is the pole, which tends to pull the blades upwards when it finds itself on top of the weeds (this caused the blades to go over the weeds vs cutting through them)Overall, this is an awesome rake and got the job done! Cannot stress enough the sharpness of these blades and how careful one needs to be in using and handling this rake when the protective blade covers are off.

Works great....and a fantastic shoulder workout!
We have several ponds on the property and one of them was completely taken over by lilly pads. They were so thick that the smaller ducks would actually walk across the pond instead of swimming across. The assembly of this item took about 15 minutes and it was very simple. Be careful to keep the blade protectors in place and use care with the blades. This item has enough weight to it to completely sink to the bottom of the pond after it's thrown out and when you pull it in you should use jerking motions instead of a smooth pull, which helps cut through the growth. It sliced through the newer growth that was along the bottom and not yet tall enough to make it to the top of the water, as well as the visible vegetation at the top of the water. You will get a shoulder workout with this. It took me about 2.5 hours to do the pond (will need another hour or so to get the ones I may have missed the first day) and that last hour or so was when I really started feeling the shoulder muscles. Bottom line, I was very impressed with the job this did and wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone.
