Uniden Guardian LightCam 35 HD Standalone Wi-Fi Camera with Programmable Spotlight

I bought this after the Guard Dog "concealed" security light bulb cam, which always said "No Connection" and worse it wasn't waterproof, and kept flashing lights giving it away as a camera. So I returned that and the company referred me to this device.First the designers for whatever reason made this so it has a plug-in adapter, instead of wiring directly to the house current. This is ridiculous if you want to replace a porch light with this- your options are to install a new outlet outside with an adapter and all wires exposed to the elements, also allowing the burglar to snip the wire or unplug the camera and take it.... or rig some crazy internal stuff like an outlet box inside a wall.It also has a very narrow 4-screw mount plate and no cover flashing, so mounting and covering up the hole in the siding that was there meant more extra trips to the store.I opted to hide the adapter inside the house, and after about 6 hours drilling holes, feeding wires through and getting hardware parts, I finally had it rigged to a switch with the adapter plugged inside the wall behind a blank outlet.I then spent the entire following day trying to get it to WORK. It worked at first, but after about an hour it goes "Connecting.... Connection Failed" and you have to play with it endlessly. About 3 sessions with tech support, and still its doing this. Also at least so far, the camera doesn't work if I take my smartphone more than 100 feet distance away from it, though Uniden said it should. So so much for this working when you're not at home, which is kind of what you want it for.As far as the actual camera, on those instances where it does work, there is no zoom feature and anything in motion is rather blurry. I could probably tell someone's face if they held still, looked at the camera and said 'cheese', but I suspect identifying burglars who tend to move quickly is going to be a disappointment. Tell the police "A moving blur broke into my car--- see!!"I only wish I had read my own review. Ugh...

i love the motion sense light and camera. When it comes to the options they are very limited. You can choose to receive alerts when cam detects motion but it is a good motion sensor so it will go off alllllll the time, even when the wind blows leaves or light cast a shadow and it moves. My other camera has the times of day i could set for the camera. It like to droop after awhile. With that being said, great graphics, easy to install and set up. overall its worth the purchase.
