VEVOR Professional Belt Sander, 8" Disc Sander and 4 x 36 in. Belt Sander model BD4083
When everything is working it is a great product (I did not compare it to $500+ models).I found out that there are 2 main models (by all vendors) the one from Rayobi, Harbor Fright, skill, etc. and the second type by Vevor, backtool, ricon, porter cable. the first type are driven by belt and use 6" disk, the second type use direct drive, and 8" disk. The belt tension arm look very similar between the two types,All made in china.Reading many reviews I ruled out type 1, that use belt for the motor to spin the disk and sanding belt. Adding another part that will go bad after reasonable use. and also loss of power between the motor and the grinding wheels.I ordered the Vevor BD4083 for $169, as similar units were $210, $279 and $249.The BD4083 came with disk plate that was not flat, and about 2mm higher on one side. While waiting for the company to send another disk, I got the porter cable from Lowe's (that comes with 3 years warranty).Open the box of Porter cable unit, the disk was bent about 5mm on one side, completely unusable. I took it back.I did get the 8" disk plate from Vevor, and it is flat, and both the disk and the belt works great. I used it with hard wood, 80 grid belt, and 120grit on the disk, it works better than expected. Both trays are stable, and do not move or change angle.the differences in type #2 brands brands is the price, some use aluminum sanding belt drive, other use made of plastic (Vevor use plastic, Porter cabe Aluminum), the vacuum attach ports is different between the brands , and base made of metal or cast iron, (Vevor use metal base). On the Vevor, you can pull out the sanding belt easy, no disconnecting parts/tray to pull out.on the porter cable, you need to use a screw driver to pull the cover to remove the belt.On the bucktool and Ricon 50-114 you have to remove the tray. The dust collection port is different between the brands, but when grinding dust covers everything anyhow.the belt 4x36 and the 8" disk that come with the unit are high quality.I did get fast response from Vevor reps, almost daily e-mail.I do recommend the BD4083The Vevor BD4083 is powerful machine, good value for you money, direct drive (no driving belt).I wish that the trays would be similar to the Porter cable, or use standard miter channel.

Great bench sander
It does what it’s meant to do. I’ve only used it on wood handles and such. But I’ve got some sanding belts for metal and will give it a try soon. I think it’s a great addition to my shop.

Good for the money
I wanted a sander and didn't want to spend a ton of money. This is fit for purpose. I didn't like that when I first ran it, it would not start, the belt was too tight, I had to give it a little manual push for it to start, so it is definitively underpowered. I loosen the belt a bit and now it works fine, but this is a light duty tool, it won't have a lot of torque, as the belt wasn't all that tight and it was enough for the motor to struggled getting started. But that said, it works well, it's easy to calibrate so that the band runs true without deviation and once done it stayed in place.

Very Pleased With This Sander
I have used a much older Craftsman sander this size but needed one for my shop. I've read and heard good things about Vevor machines and decided to give this one a try. The price was one of the best I found for this sander. I've used it several times now and really like the quality of the machine. It comes with an 80 grit belt and I believe the disc is also 80 or 60 grit. You have to be careful because of the coarse grit, to not take too much wood off, it happens fast. I ordered more belts for mine with much finer grit options for finish sanding, I can see this helping same me lots of time in the future on my projects.

So far so good
Ran it a few times, once for about 30 minutes straight. It got a little hotter then I liked, but continued to run fine.

Worked for 4 months
This thing worked for about 4 months. Went to turn it on the other day, and I saw a small flame coming from the on/off switch. Smoke came out. Sander is now in the garbage.

Quick sanding.
Have to be careful on belt sander. It will make uneven areas especially if the piece is wider than belt. I use to smooth bottom of wood lathe turning pieces bottom after removing tenon. Works well if being cautious.
