Great for Sennheiser HD 598 too
Some rotter stole my genuine replacement headband pad for the Sennheiser HD 598. I read about this pad from a reddit post. This is an excellent substitute if you don't mind black instead of the original cream. Although it's not shaped like the original - it's straight instead of slightly curved which results in a tiny overlap on the ends and a narrowing in the middle), it does the job. Line up before pressing.

Good padding. Fits well
Padding is good and deep and gives plenty of comfort over the head.

Keeps Falling Off
Keeps falling off. Have to leave the headphones draped over a stack of Blu-Ray Cake boxes to ensure pressure is applied when the headphones are not worn, so that it does keep falling off. Its a bit of a pain.

Passt auch zu Kopfhörer AKG K845 bt
Unter der Vorausetzung, daß Sie die Einstellung des Stirnbandes auf mindestens 4 setzen, paßt es auch wunderbar zu meinem AKG K845 bt.

Successfully fit to AKG K550 with careful coaxing; great results!
Even though this headband pad is advertised for Sennheiser HD201, HD201S, and HD180 headphones, I decided to take a chance on fitting it to my AKG K550's. I came to discover that this model of AKG headphone is well-known for pad wear on both the headband and earpads, and replacements are hard to find. I bought the headset used online for about $50 not knowing all this yet, but after being pleasantly surprised by the sound (they're *almost* as good as my K701's, but I'm not afraid to take these to work), I decided I would plunge into the pad replacement project. I found earpads fairly easy, with a bit of online research. During that process I read a lot of reviews, and many of them complain that a very minor thing sometimes affects the sound of these headphones; the earpad thickness, or the covering material, or the bend of the metal headband. I guess I am somehow fortunate that the size of my head works well with the earpads I found, because I get a good seal around my ears and a good sound. But shortly after finding earpads, the covering started flaking off the headband pad. So I measured the metal headband, and this pad seemed like it might be close enough to work. It came last week and today I installed it.This pad is virtually the same width as the original AKG K550 pad, but slightly thicker and slightly longer. I was able to do enough of a dry fit even before removing the old pad to realize that it would make the headset sit just a little higher on my head, but that brings the earpieces (speakers) only slightly higher on the ears, so that seemed acceptable; I could adjust them down if necessary. I then realized that the earpieces would not go all the way up to the #1 setting on the headband markings on either side with this new pad in place, but if I centered it properly, I could get each earpiece to go up as high as setting #2. This drops the earpads down a bit again, basically to the same spot on your head as the #1 setting with a thinner headband pad. It looked like it would just be a wash, in other words...the tiny bit of extra length would offset the extra thickness, making them fit practically the same as before, but providing more comfort because of the thicker headband (a common complaint in the more negative reviews). To install, first you must rip the old pad off the metal headband. Depending on how clean you want it to look when you're done, you might spend a bit of time flaking off the bits that remain. I went even farther, using some goo remover to clean the remains of the old pad about 1/8" away from both edges of the metal headband. I didn't try to remove it all; there's a ribbon cable that runs along the underside of the metal headband that takes the signal to the right speaker, and I was reluctant to clean all the way to bare metal in the center for fear of damaging this wire. Besides, the new pad would cover the remains of the old completely, if I cleaned up just the edges. I then let it dry completely before sticking the new pad on. Once you're ready, you can peel the backing off the new self-adhesive pad, center one end of it (on the underside, of course) between the 1 and 2 on the left side, then roll it slowly and carefully onto the metal headband, and the other end should be between the 1 and 2 on the right side when you're done.I've been wearing them all afternoon at work, they sound and feel good, and I'm enjoying not just the music but also the feeling of accomplishment that comes with a successful DIY project. It also saved me money over buying this headphone new, but I'm as happy with the result as if I had. If your K550's need a new pad on the headband, this is a very good choice. Not quite a drop-in replacement, but as close as I've found affordably, quite easy to do, and looks good -- not 'homemade' -- as long as you're not in a rush. Take it slow and carefully, and you'll be very pleased.

Does not fit HD 212 Pro
Bought to test fit on my HD 212 pro... too wide at the ends... but it's a decent cheap replacement...The sticky part sucks though... Buy some 3m double sided tape...
