This piece is stunning and beautifully crafted. The packing was awesome and made it that much more special. This was a father’s day gift for my husband and he absolutely loves it and can’t stop admiring it!!

Love the art of this chess board.It’s artistic not just functional.Will see how long those cubes of real wood will stay pressed together. But the quality of the wood it’s real ! Made with real wood !!! Not paper , no press plywood.

It's flat... An entire row of the squares overlaps with the next row on one end. See some of the pictures from other reviews for an example. Since it's only one row I'll keep it. It's not the only board i own and I can still use it as a display. It'd be too annoying to actually play on. There is also some visible glue on a couple sides. File under: too good to be true.

I really wanted to love this chessboard, even went out of my way to contact the manufacturer with my concerns about the poor quality and very clearly previously returned chessboard that arrived for me (with packaging that had been opened and then retaped to make it look "new").Unfortunately I could immediately see why the previous buyer returned it -- no less than 1/3 of the chess squares were either crooked or mis-aligned, so that corners weren't touching and indeed entire ranks of the chessboard were off kilter. I read and re-read the description and was willing to accept some worksmanship mis-alignments, but certainly not 1/3 of the squares.I reached out to the seller (Solh), who asked that I return the board for a replacement. I followed the seller's instructions and was hopeful that they'd make sure the replacement board was of a quality we agreed I should receive. Unfortunately this didn't happen -- a replacement board, also full of defects, was sent to me, along with the seller's explanation that they had no control over which of their products was shipped from the Amazon warehouses.I suppose I was expecting the Seller might see to it that a good quality chessboard was sent. This was not the case, and I'll be returning the replacement board for a full refund right away.

A real work of art! Almost too nice to play on. Even the way it was packaged was impressive. It comes in a soft cloth bag, fitted into a sponge like foam and a reuseable storage box. It's nice to see someone still takes pride in their product. It's heavy and thick which I really like because it could be sanded down and refinished multiple times. A board like this will last me a lifetime! Excellent, excellent product! Kudos to the maker!

The board wood finishing is great and is well crafted. It came very well packed and with pretty cover.

Yes, there are irregularities due to this being a fully natural wood product. This is expected, but even then they are minimal. Beautiful chess board!

These boards are clearly seconds repackaged to look attractive. I give the seller a lot of credit for the presentation. That said, as a full-time woodworker, I added tiger maple and walnut borders, and refinished the entire board. I understand the difficulty in making the blocking squares, so I can’t be that critical of the offsets.
