Amazing iron, highly recommend
Fantastic iron. Makes ironing so much easier. Have always used more expensive iron brands but this by far has been the best iron I have had so far and the more expensive ones just don't compare. This glides effortlessly and makes ironing so much easier and quicker.Love the fact that you can use it wired or wireless. Nice powerful steam that gets rid of creases. Isn't too heavy to hold either. Well worth the money!

Fabulous Cordless Iron...real value. Highly recommended.
Like many of the population I have over the years used many irons and I believe I can consider a good one from bad etc. This one ticks all the boxes for me...I have a main generator iron for the home but needed to replace my regular iron for my sewing room. Although 'only' an iron, along with obviously the iron working how I need it to, I also look at aesthetics and how I think the iron would feel to actually use; I also wanted a cordless iron. I had expected to pay a lot more for a cordless iron...a good cordless iron but I have to say that I am very pleased indeed with this one. I love the colour and the feel of the iron and it works exactly as it should. I love the shape and the fact that the edge of the iron gets hot too for tight spots (in between buttons etc). It is very simple to use and to fill with water, there is a lock switch for switching from cordless to locked and both feel great when using. When the iron is locked, the iron feels really nicely substantial which I like and if I need to use cordless than that is great. Obviously if you are ironing a lot of clothing you would get best results from using the iron locked to maintain the heat but it also holds enough heat for me when ironing my pieces of fabric cut outs etc. Overall I say this is a great cordless iron at a great price...others are around £20 more: albeit branded irons but I'm confident that this iron is more than adequate to compete with the higher priced ones. Certainly recommended and how can you go wrong with such a great price point too. If you are not used to this brand...neither am I as probably the first time I have used a Tower iron, give it a go, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Great iron, if you understand what it offers
I have noticed a lot of reviewers here are basing them on misconceptions of the product. The iron offers a cordless option, i.e an option to effectively detach the power source (cord) while you iron. It does NOT have a battery that must be “charged” - any generation of heat occurs whilst the iron is on the dock and plugged in. An iron draws a lot of power and any battery big enough to hold a sufficient amount of charge and small and light enough for the iron would make this a lot more than £20.This works on the principle that the iron will retain a lot of its heat between lifting it off and placing it back on the dock (similar to a storage heater), just as a regular iron cycles on and off - heating up, and when it is up to temperature the power is removed until the temperature drops below a certain point, and it is then heated up again. You end up with variation in temperature within prescribed limits. In this vain, don’t expect to be able to charge up the iron and then use it for an hour before charging it up again. It is designed to be lifted off the dock when up to temperature, used to iron the garment, and placed back on the dock while adjusting the garment and changing it (any time the iron is not actually ironing). That said, this works well. The iron retains heat for long enough to iron an ironing-board-area of garment before being re-heated, and it’s really convenient not having the cord. The dock can be clipped on and it used as a regular iron, for really big items where you might not want to keep docking it, or where a constantly high temperature is needed. The iron feels solid and well made, pretty lightweight but also weighty enough to make ironing comfortable, and it glides easily. One star dropped as I have noticed with the steam on it does drip a fair amount of water too (even on max temperature and half steam selected), the steam smells a bit odd even after a few uses, and I feel the principle of the cordless system could be clearer in the marketing.

Nice looking, good price great product
Really nice iron, when I saw the price I was not sure it would be that good being wireless, but it exceeded expectations

Lightweight but efficient. Impressed for price.
I wasn't sure quite what to expect from this iron, due to it's price and I never had a Tower iron before. However, as my 19 year old Phillips finally died yesterday, I ordered this. It is lightweight, especially compared to my old iron. It also has a ceramic sole plate. I have always had stainless steel sole plates. I read the book, filled it up and switched it on. It was easy to fill. First obstacle overcome!!!!! It was quick to heat up to cottons setting. It passed that test!!!!! Now for the real test........a pile of, some quite crushed, and some heavy, ironing which had to be abandoned yesterday!!!!!! My husband's very crushed Egyptian cotton shirt it sailed over!!!!! I was impressed. Given the weight of it, I wasn't sure it would cope but it did a better job than my old friend and the ceramic sole plate meant it just glided over the fabric. Lovely!!!!!! The jeans were a doddle. A wee blast of steam on my husband's favourite cargo pants, which are a nightmare to iron as a rule and they were done. Now, up the temperature for my linen skirts!!!! One had been crushed in the wardrobe but, a wee spray and it was done. The rest was easy.I have to say, I used the iron corded. I like being able to lock the base onto the iron. The shorter cable is not an issue for me, in fact, my old iron, I was always standing on the cable and pulling the plug out!!!!!! I iron in the bedroom, right beside a socket so it was perfect. If I was ironing something intricate, I would use it cordless but, as there is no weight to it, corded was easier. I was dubious about this iron but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. In fact, it is easier to use than many, much more expensive ones and I cannot warrant £80+ on an iron, sorry, my money is needed elsewhere!!!!!Well done Tower on this wee gem. I am so glad I bought it although, I doubt if I will get 19 years from this one, or any other on the market these days!!!!!!!!!!! I am happy with what I have though.
