Excellent source of proven anthocyanin antioxidants.
I like every Bulk Supplements product I have tried. They are all more budget friendly than most other brands for often-identical ingredients. This is a 50:1 extract, so each capsule packs in a reasonably effective dose of blueberry antioxidants. Being 3rd part certified helps me be comfortable taking it daily and being a repeat buyer. 5 stars.

Many touted benefits
Many touted benefits of this and the ingredients of the capsule does taste very pleasant and fruitful but as another said that he called the company and they said that it was sourced from china. Even though this has all the certifications you would have to weigh that against the reputation of ingredients from china. Also, this is an extract but I see no where on this page that that it says just what concentrate it is. However on the bottle it does state that is is a 50:1 ratio, I also notice that this page says it is Vaccinium Cyanococcus, while the bottle states Vaccinium augustifolium. All that said, I do like this and will now keep it on my daily intake of nutrients.

Brain health support and antioxidants
This is on the more enjoyable side of supplements. Capsules are on the smaller side, easy to take. I cracked one open and it just tastes like blueberry powder. I've been taking it a few months now, perfectly pleased.Another reviewer noted, which I found quite helpful, that these blueberries are sourced from China.Usually I'd dock a point for this. Supplements are better sourced from places with more stringent agricultural laws. However, I do recognize that in exchange, this supplement is a lot more budget-friendly. I've also reviewed plenty of supplements from this brand in the past and all have been good quality and potent in my personal experience. In general this brand sells a ton of supplements at affordable prices and many have some of the better average Amazon ratings in their category. So I am willing to believe the brand's claim of good quality control and keep it 5 stars.Seems great for anyone looking for extra brain health and antioxidant supplements without breaking the bank.

A Closer Look at Naming, Sourcing and Cost
Vaccinium cyanococcus, commonly known as highbush blueberry, is native to the Eastern and Southeastern United States. Therefore, although Bulk Supplements imports most of the raw ingredients for its products from outside the U.S., I thought this blueberry supplement might be an exception. But no. I reached out to the company and they confirmed their blueberry extract is sourced from China. Apparently, blueberries are becoming popular there, with significant cultivation in regions like Shandong and Liaoning provinces. In looking to compare this product with its competitors, it appears there might be a bit of confusion with the scientific naming. The more accurate botanical name for the highbush blueberry is Vaccinium corymbosum. Sometimes, “Vaccinium cyanococcus” is used colloquially or in older literature, but it is not the accepted scientific name. I have no idea why Bulk Supplements continues to use it when other brands all refer to their product with the preferred scientific name.My favorite blueberry supplement on Amazon is certified USDA Organic and costs $0.16 for each 500 mg capsule with Subscribe and Save. In contrast, Bulk Supplement’s blueberry extract is $ 0.09 for each 500 mg capsule with Subscribe and Save. There’s no question that Bulk Supplements is more budget-friendly.In addition to the Blueberry extract, the Bulk Supplements formulation contains maltodextrin. Those with sensitivities or trying to consume “clean” supplements might want to avoid products with this filler. In terms of packaging, the plastic supplement bottle comes with a “childproof” cap; that is a plus or minus depending on one’s preferences. The label indicates a lot number (VC2318411) and a “best before” date of Nov. 30, 2026.Bulk Supplements consistently offers an affordable alternative to high cost nutraceuticals. Their blueberry extract is for those who want a no frills product that doesn’t break the bank.

Well recognized anti-oxidant properties.
Since everyone's situation is different I cannot recommend for or against taking this supplement. While there are a few situational adverse side effects there is also potential positive side effects. Keep in mind that a potential benefit for one could turn into an adverse side effect for another.Make sure, in your research, that you use professional reputable sources such as Mayo Clinic, Stanford, Cleveland Clinic, etc. that are not trying to sell you more drugs/supplements.

Great value, equivalent of 1/6 cup blueberries
I try to eat as many blueberries as possible during the growing season because of their high antioxidant and nutrient values, which are well-known for heart and brain health. The price of blueberries tends to climb steeply out of season, so supplements including blueberry extracts allow me to maintain a healthy intake of my favorite berries. The powder content in each capsule tastes sweet with a sour and caramelized berry flavor. You can also easily dissolve the powder in water if you have difficulty swallowing pills. It includes no other flow agents than a bit of maltodextrin sweetener used as a filler. Although I would have preferred it without, the amount should be minimal enough to not affect blood sugar at one capsule dosage. The 240 caps by BulkSupplements came filled fully to the top of the bottle with no wastage. Each cap includes 50:1 500mg blueberry extract, which means it contains 50 times more concentration than the raw blueberries, equivalent to 25 grams or around one-sixth of a cup of fresh blueberries. Since each capsule costs $0.08, that’s an amazing value for the convenient supplement.
