WAVLINK AC1200 Outdoor WiFi Extender
I use this device on my RV and have had very good results at different locations. The final results will depend on the power of the originating ACCESS POINT.I WIFI connected the WAVLINK AC1200 Outdoor WiFi Extender to a satellite access point with excellent transmission.I configured the WAVLINK AC1200 Outdoor WiFi Extender WN572HP3 as a REPEATER.At 100 feet, the download speed was 98mbps and the upload speed was 36mbps.At 600 feet, the download speed was 34mbps and the upload speed was 16mbps.I then configured the WAVLINK AC1200 Dual Band WiFi Router 531P3-New as ROUTER MODE.I configured the router WAN using a static IP to match the extender IP.I configured the router LAN to use a different IP address and I enabled DHCP.I configured the GUEST NETWORK for additional isolation security.I connected the the cable to the router WAN port and to the extender power supply LAN port.I connected 2 different clients to the router GUEST NETWORK using WIFI.At 100 feet, the download speed was 90mbps and the upload speed was 30mbps.At 600 feet, the download speed was 30mbps and the upload speed was 16mbps.These are excellent products. The software is rock solid and hasn't crashed at all. The components are very well build and they interface with each other flawlessly. There is minimal to zero signal loss between the extender and the router. There are several configuration options. In my case, I use the extender as a repeater, and the only device that connects to it is my router. I use the router as an access point and completely control all connections. This provides both excellent connectivity to outside access points, and high grade security within my LAN.

It actually survives outdoors!
I use as a wifi repeater for my pool equipment and it works. The pool equipment is about 65-70ft away from the house and it gets fantastic signal. Most surprising is that it has survived all of the crazy weather so far this year in the Northeast US. Several thunderstorms and sun light. Its under an eave but still gets direct sun a few hours a day.

These are actually pretty good extenders. We've been using 3 of these for several years to extend wifi from the house to three shops about 300 ft away. There is a setup learning curve. I contacted tech support, and they advised me what I needed to do. One of them did take on water at some point. By the looks of it, the water had been in there for many months. Not sure how it kept working for so long. They've worked great for the situation here.

Doesn’t Work Like I Hoped
Purchased to reach backyard. Secured extender inside basement to a window facing the closest to the backyard area. Extender is hardwired to router. Router is in the center of my basement apartment about 30ft from extender. While outside, @ 10ft away, I had 4 out of 5 bars on 1 phone. 20/30ft from extender, 2 bars on 1 phone. Max distance I can be is 50ft, bar was 1. I could only receive reliable WiFi on 1 device as well (a phone). If I added another phone, 20/30ft, both had 1 bar with neither working @ 50ft. Attempted to use a laptop @ 20ft, internet reached but was so slow, websites barely loaded rendering laptop useless.Easy to setup, love the combined internet/power cord combo. Arms are big, had to be creative to secure & hide it. Wish it worked better for my circumstances. Home is old and I live in the basement but extender cannot be any closer to the window which looks directly into the backyard. Kept to purchase another extender to hopefully resolve my issue fully.

This extender saved the day!
My property is on a slight hill. My router is at the top in my home and I live on a lake and spend a lot of time on the dock. T-Mobile is my cell phone provider and at the top of my property I have one bar LTE at best so I must use Wi-Fi calling. Needless to say I have no cell service on the dock so a Wi-Fi extender is my only option. I've tried the less expensive extenders with little to no success and last week I broke down and bought this WAVLINK AC1200 extender. Not only do I have STRONG Wi-Fi calling, I can also stream movies, news, sports...everything.

Does not follow PoE standard 802.3
For homeowners and small businesses that do not have a PoE system, this product will probably work just fine for you, keep in mind the power adapter must be indoors. For the rest of the planet, this system uses a proprietary power over ethernet that is NOT compatible with any PoE switches or power supplies. In their infinite wisdom, Wavelink chose to make their own super cheap power supply and call it PoE. Technically it is PoE, just not compliant with the industry. No where in the description is this noted. I found a single reference to this when I searched Wavelink website for why the device would not power on during bench test. I returned it the same day I received it. I can not comment on whether it works or not as I didn't bother powering it up.

Not the easiest to set up.
I have done networking for quite a while now and this was and is a bit of an issue, the connection seems fine - strong signal, but it likes to drop out the internet randomly. I have gone through the settings and all and not sure what the issue is, maybe something internal, maybe something just with this unit, but there is definitely something wrong - I'm thinking something with just this unit, so I can't say don't try it, but be wary. The weather does seem to effect it, that's why I think it's just this unit, cold solder joint or something inside.

Decent range
I needed a wifi repeater to reach a camera at a gate 650 feet from the house. I gave this item a try and it worked as advertised. I had issues trying to log into the device from my laptop but had no issues logging in on the iphone. I set it up in the repeater mode and it covers the entire pasture and probably further (I haven't checked how far the signal actually goes yet) with fairly decent strength. I can get about 40 mbs at about 200 feet and a solid 20 mbs at 650 feet. I installed this about 8 feet off of the ground and against an exterior wall. I would expect the range to be a little better if installed higher and not against a wall. My installation serves it purpose for me so, I'm pleased.
