Awesome mobility aid! Easy to use and store.
My physical therapist recommended these and I was hesitant at first, but they are now my favorite mobility aid. My arms are weak and often tire from using a cane, but the way these hiking poles fit in my hand and swing automatically, they do not tire my arms and provide me with better balance. They are lightweight, strong, and don't really require any assembly at all beyond pushing the little button and sliding them to the correct height. I've taken them with me to concerts and simply slide them small to store under my seat which is much easier to manage than a rollator walker or traditional arm crutches.

Give support and help balance
I have not used these as I had hoped I would, but I haven't been walking as much either. These poles are well made, very sturdy and light weight. They are easy to use and I did find that when I was walking and used these that my knees and back did not hurt near as much as they had done in the past. I didn't even wear a compression sleeve on my knee. I did need to wear gloves when I used these, but that's because it was darn hot and my hands were sweating a lot and I was having trouble gripping the poles. Not the poles fault, it was just in the high 80's with high humidity. These are a basic walking pole for balance and stability, they are not Alpine walking poles. There are not a lot of videos of Activators on line, mainly Alpine, but view some of the on line information to make sure that you are getting what you want. There is a difference. One big thing is these have no straps, mainly because of stress on the wrists. When I do get out and walk, I use these and it makes a big difference in how far and long I can go and how I feel afterwards.

Good for walking and balance
I selected these poles for my husband who has some serious balance problems since his stroke. They work well for him because he is able to feel more secure while walking and they help him stay upright (unlike a "walker" which would require him to bend over) these are height-adjustable and easy to manage. They are very lightweight and seem quite sturdy; the large "feet" provide a reasonable platform to help with walking balance. Recommended!

Perfect for older people needing to get out and walk
I use these poles every day. I tried the fiber poles but these poles are so much sturdier and yet still light weight. I feel secure about my balance. 75 years old but with a back injury that makes hiking hard. These poles give me the help I need. I like the grips as they give me propulsion, engaging my core but they are sweaty in warm weather. I think I need light weight gloves.

It's worth a try
I just started using these poles and I'm optimistic that they will help me walk better. I have very bad osteoarthritis in both hips and lumbar stenosis. Being more active is a goal but it's not easy with the weakness and chronic pain. I was using a cane but my gait was very asymmetrical. I began using a rollator/walker but my arms weren't moving in sync with my legs and I was starting to feel weaker. I saw someone with trekking poles and did a little research to see if these might be helpful. I determined that these were the best for me and so far I'm very pleased. After just a few days, my spouse has noticed that I'm standing straighter and not hunched over. I'm having minor soreness from weak muscles but, to me, that's a good sign that I'm on the right path. My only issue is, despite being imprinted with an "L" and "R", I keep grabbing the wrong pole in each hand. I plan to get a little sticker so that I can identify them better until I get used to the way they feel. I'm very grateful that this company exists and makes this product for people like me.

EXCEPTIONAL GRIPS CONTRIBUTE TO MAKE THESE THE BEST
HAVING USED POLES BY DIFFERENT VENDORS TO ASSIST IN MY DAILY WALKING FOR SEVERAL HEARS, I HAVE FOUND THESE TO BE THE FINEST! AAT NINETY+ THE CRIPS ARE CRITICALAND THE SMALL EXTENSION AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GRIPS ON THESE POLES MAKE THEM SPECIAL. THEY ADD TO THE ENTIRE WALKING EXCPERIENCE BECAUSE THEY PROVIDE AN ADDED FEEATURE OF STABILITY - I FEEL LIKE MY GRIP WILL NOT CLIP. ALSO, THE OVERALL QUALITY IF DFAR SUPEERION TO ANY OTHEER POLES I HAVE USED. THEY ARE THE WELL WORTH THE PRICE. THEY HAVE HELPED ME TO STAND STRAIGHTER AND WALK FURTHER.

These are awesome
I have PD and I bought these to walk with. My thought was to get accustomed to using them before I need them to walk with. They are great poles for walking, and it works out the whole body rather than just my legs. I came across a lot of videos on YouTube showing how to do sitting and standing exercises using these poles. These exercises are exactly what I needed to loosen up my hips, legs and shoulders, which are my stiffest areas. It is unbelievable how good it feels to stretch out these areas of my body that have been so stiff for so long. These are must haves for anyone with PD.
