These are great! Could not have done the job without them!!I used a putty knife to pry the previous board, so the tab on this could go behind.Occasionally the previous board would chip, and this would fall off. Check each carefully before setting the next board on them.

These do not work with 5/16” Hardie Board siding. They constantly fall off while trying to use them. Also, they do not allow the Hardie to sit tight against the wall. Do not recommend!

Build QualityThese are well made and very solid and work just as I expected.UseThey are sized correctly and work for typical 5/16 hardie lap siding. They hold and space siding perfectly for new installation (bottom up) and take the guesswork out of installation. They take care of all the measuring so you only have to remember to leave gaps between boards.Check for shipping damage.I did have one of these delivered that was bent (last picture)-- which must have been due to someone stepping on the shipping envelope because they are very sturdy and don't bend easily -- But just check that they are "straight" and uniform when you receive them to make sure.Final thoughtsThese are great quality siding holders (and spacers) that I recommend.

These are not adjustable like the clamp-style siding tools, but these are simpler, cheaper, and work just as well. These make siding installation possible when working alone. They also prevent mistakes even if you do have a helper. Installation is much faster than not using them.
