Excellent budget lens.
Pros:1. 18-200mm zoom2. Very light package3. Decent build4. Fast AF (almost as fast as STM/AF-P lens)5. Aperture is f/5.6 up to 130mm, so it works accurately even in low light till that zoom6. Works flawlessly on older Nikon DSLRs (unlike AF-P lens which have umpteen limitations). Has revived my Nikon D5100.7. Good colour rendition, contrast and sharpness.8. Excellent centre sharpness at f/8 till 130mm, good after than. Have not tested edge sharpness.9. Lens hood provided.10. Very Cheap.CONS-1. Focus ring rotates; one must be careful when holding the lens.2. Slightly unreliable in low light3. Stabilisation has typical Tamron issue of whole image shifting in viewfinder4. AF is fast at the expense of accuracy. Ratio of off-focus shots in low light is higher than in OEM lens. However, this is not severe, unless you shoot low contrast subjects in low light.

Beginners Dream .
This Tamron lens fit's in your budget, as it covers 18-200 range ,if u have additional funds would recommend a 18-400 mm from Nikon .Using it on a Nikon D3200 .When Shooting with Aperture modes you will have to find a sweet spot for the f number and shutter speed to get a decent quality image .Please do invest in circular polarizing lens filter as an add on .

Very good travel companion
Well to begin with I was looking for solution wherein during travel i dont have to change lens very often, with less hit to pockets. Bang on, this is the lens.I am hobbyist, i like to take landscapes and birds, street photos. Many time you have to span through 18 mm to 200mm . i found this lens meet the purpose. If i talk about sharpness its okay, if you are not a professional protographer its will not matter much.Autofocus is found better than kit lenses.Low light performance could have been better.Vignetting is observed at 200mm very much. But overall if you are on trip , this is the best for Street, landscap, birds to some extends, kids, family functions. For indoor you will need good lighting.Go for it if you need a multipurpose lens.

You get what you pay and a little beyond
First impression:Solid build, fits well, fells good, buttons does the job.Photos:Performance same like default Nikon counterpart, may be Nikon is better but i am incapable enough to notice. Even a shitty photographer cant take great images with lens worth 3L. Images does well from 18-200.Cons:Focus takes slightly few milisecs more and always not accurate. Cant expect this else go for fast lens. The VC thing, not sure how great is that. I dont see anything else as of now.Great buy. If you have more money and either you don’t know what to do with it or you know what exactly you get extra by paying triple then go for Nikon 18-200. Well, i am a poor guy.

Not worth the price
Pics taken by my kit lens (18-55) were sharper than this lens under similar lighting conditions. Pics lack sharpness. Overall, its too pricy for what it delivers.

Zoom
Pros: Lens is light, smooth movement, focussing is good (auto).Cons: Zoom is not good at 200. Huge noise in the picture....Graininess can not only be seen it can almost be felt !! It's that bad. Won't recommend it as a go to lens !!

Blurred Images
Image is disturbed in edges and the lens movement is bit hard. Rest is good.

good first lens for beginners
as a beginner i too was very confused on which lens to get as my first one. then i decided to get this one and i dont regret doing so. its a very good first lens for amatures like me. maybe when you get good at photography you can jump to better quality ones with a higher price tag. the only real downside which i can point out is that low light photography is not top notch. but considering the cheap price, its not much of a prb. so in conclusion there are way too many better lens out there you can chose from, but this is the best available in the price range and one which meets the needs of any beginners, even if its a hobby like in my case or if you are planing to pursue a career in the same field. 4 star is just because of the issue with low light situations and sometimes i find the AF hunting a lil longer to get a sharp focus(but thats just a couple of seconds).adding alongside a few snaps that i took myself using this lensPS : i'm not an expert in all these, but all that i just said is from my experience after using this lens along with nikon d5200 that i purchased exactly a month back.
