Great for cats, and maybe kids, who run.
If your cat is a runner, buy this now. We have a hefty orange cat who wants OUT if you even think about looking at the door. He can’t climb or tear at this net and it is very secure on the wall. He knows if the net is closed, Che can’t get out and won’t even try. Easy to install and good quality. The locking feature confuses the kids so we don’t use it. Which could be a benefit if you want to keep kids out too…

easy and durable
my pups would jump over my old dog gates. They're definitely not getting over this beast! Easy to install and a breeze to use. I wish I would have ordered this years ag.

Functions well, bottom support needed.
This was a good purchase. It was easy to install, and stops my agile Boston Terrier from jumping over it. She has no problem jumping all shorter baby gates. It is easy to open, close, and operate one handed. It fit my extra wide opening well.I installed it even with the floor, however there is enough give in the fabric that she can push under it even when it's locked. I was only able to stop that by proving the bottom of the gate a track that stops them from being able to lift it up.They still dig at the gate and it has held up well to that. No visible wear and tear yet.

Worked, although the 2 cats can go under it through the doorway. Other than that, it's pretty amazing

Does not work well for cats! Will slip through the underside.
Does not work well for cats! They will just slip through the flimsy mesh by going underneath it. It leaves too much of a gap underneath and doesn’t have enough tension there even with the lock mode turned on!

Useless for cats
We have several issues with this gate.1) the instructions are worthless. It took two men over an hour to install.2) it is very awkward to open and close. Takes 2 hands and more than one attempt to get all 3 hooks latched.3) it does not keep cats secured. We have a foster mom and 2 9-week-old kittens. They can all escape either through the gaps on the sides or over the topI because it was retractable and less expensive than the metal gates we have used in the past. Big mistake. Wish we could return, as it's useless for our needs.
