Really happy with it! No issues so far but I will report back if that changes
It doesn't really fit your typical mug, but the drip tray just slides out, so it's not a problem (I think it's often used for those smaller fancy cups lol). The machine is super easy to use and clean, and the coffee is waaaaay nicer than the instant coffee I'm used to making with my kettle. Each pod only produces a little bit of coffee (you can let it go longer, but it quickly becomes weak so you may need multiple pods). I can't fault the machine at all though currently. Make the coffee super fast, is super easy to use and clean too. I usually just tip the excess water in the pod tray into the sing and then the pods in the bin before rinsing it, and that's about it. Of course, don't leave water in the tank too long, or give it a dry run with no coffee pod in from time to time.I also bought a milk frother from them and it has been a really great pairing. I typically use one pod of this and the rest milk, it's quite nice and the temperature is ready to drink too. However, if you like your coffee super hot, it could potentially feel a little too cool for you. To me though, it's basically just ready to start drinking after like a minute

Great machine
Really love this machine. Coffee tastes great, easy to use and very compact. It replaced a Delonghi espresso machine which was a lot of faff, bulky and messy. Lavazza pods taste just as good to me. Decided on a Lavazza machine as pods are compostable.

Great value espresso coffee pod machine
Makes delicious espresso Italian coffee from Lavazza pods. Hot,quick, simple, no fuss, coffee. Very good selection of pods too. Including decaffeinated, which is the best I’ve tasted. Good value, solid well built machine. The only downside is it only takes Lavazza pods, which can be expensive if you drink a lot of coffee. There is no milk frother either.

insanely-good
this machine is brilliant. it is simple, affordable and makes a fantastic cup of coffee. the pods are a little more difficult to obtain, but it is oh-so-worth-it.

It's good and I'm impressed
Machine comes well packaged with an easy setup guide and registration QR code which I shall complete after writing this review. I have previously had two Nespresso machines, one costing close to £200 and the most recent £100, this coffee maker cost less than £50 on offer here at Amazon. Is it any good, well yes I would say so, easily on a par with Nespresso, heats up fast, very easy to use, small and compact with a good sized water tank, coffee hotter as well. I'm using Amorcaffe coffee capsules, 100 for less than £20, a tad bitter but at least strong. I now wish I'd tried less of a few different brands because I like a foamy head and these don't quit deliver. I've made two drinks so far using heated milk in a mug and easily removing the drip tray to accommodate it and an exresso, both were great, had my coffee fix. I can't really think of anything negative to say about this Lavazza model, very pleased, especially considering what it cost.tj

Usage problems increasing by the week when barely 3 months old!
Bought to replace an espresso machine that proved unsatisfactory and constantly leaking over worktop and kitchen floor, the "Lavazza A Modo Mio Jolie Espresso Coffee Machine, Black" is smaller, less imposing and simpler to use. Rather than dispense a fixed volume of water, the amount is fully controllable by pressing its control button when required (25-40 ml is suggested). The major desire was to continue to use ground coffee and not some of the manufactured beverages sold as various styles of coffee.Lavazza include a sample pack of nine capsules in five varieties (4 pairs plus one solo) so that a favourite or several may be identified. All options are coffees with their own distinct character. There is a practical limit of cup size that the machine will accept - the maximum height is circa 8cm - as there is no possibility to adjust the height other than by complete removal of the drip tray which is probably not recommended or practical. The machine accepts Lavazza's own format capsules. It produces some noise as it starts to pump but it is not a conversation killer. A Start Guide is included and offers a download link for the full manual which contains additional information but not significantly more. Purchasers are recommended to register in order to take advantage of 'additional benefits' but there were none immediately apparent unless they refer to the possibility of ordering supplies at a small discount (£50 minimum order value) via the site once registered. It is claimed that Lavazza's capsules are recyclable and fully compostable via many local food waste collection schemes although some local authorities may not accept them; compatibles may not be recyclable and not all packaging offers such information.Strength and flavour will vary from one blend or variety to another but several are available from Lavazza and various other brands who offer compatible capsules whose content may not be of equivalent quality. The brewed coffee (several varieties across two brands to date) seems always to have an impressive crema and is consistently superior in appearance to results obtained from the previous machine.A fairly priced machine with which we were initially very satisfied but it may, in retrospect, have been ill-chosen..POSTSCRIPT - it was found after several weeks' of use that, although some claim that the waste container can hold 4 or 5 used capsules, 3 is a more realistic limit. It can sometimes accept a fourth but, as they fall very randomly, it is more probable that the fourth capsule is blocked by others and block the assembly's removal. The handle of a spoon or fork is used to jiggle that capsule so that it can fall but is uncertain and not always effective.A few more weeks on and several capsules passed through the machine pierced but not otherwise used. Nothing entered the cup, other than perhaps a little steam but the waste container contained a couple of used pods and was nearly full with pale brownish water on each instance.A few more weeks later again and some of the coffee was very nearly cold immediately after brewing (within a few seconds) and unpleasant. Reliability appears to be shrinking by the week and the machine is still not three months old. It may be time to think again about another replacement and possibly a change of brand.POSTSCRIPT #2 - There was a conversation with Lavazza UK who had initially suggested that a replacement was in order but, when mentioned that some non-Lavazza capsules were used, they began to duck and dive and disclaimed all responsibility. Over several emails in both directions they suggested that it would be helpful to them were each malfunction filmed for their review but when events are erratic, that is not realistic or practical. The intention appeared to be that they might benefit from personal experience but without any real benefit in return.Lavazza also maintain that their own capsules should always be used, presumably for commercial reasons and no other. They also appear to try to find any excuse, especially something that the user innocently relates as a practice that Lavazza consider unacceptable, to withdraw from the normal guarantee expectations. If the machine misbehaves, it is then your problem not theirs!Lavazza appear to consider that buying their machine demands that you also buy their capsules regardless of any alternatives that may be available. Should the flavour and strength of an alternative better suit personal tastes than anything they offer, then TOUGH! That attitude is not acceptable in today's competitive market. Lavazza's demand for compliance and unwillingness to concede to any degree in favour of the customer requires that any prior recommendation for the brand is withdrawn. There are several available alternatives machines not all of which are pod- or capsule-based and the probability is that one will be later selected.Should it need to be replaced, it was likely to be by another brand. At that point, Amazon came to the rescue and responded far more favourably than had Lavazza once events were explained and they offered a replacement. It took far less time than had the cumulative phone calls and email exchanges with Lavazza.
