Sandwich Hand Toaster - Gas Sandwich Maker, Grill, Toaster

This is a little lighter weight than the one I grew up with but it still does the job. If you are teaching your kids to use the stove this is a great tool. they aren't too close to the burner and they have to watch the timer to flip to the other side.

As a kid growing up in India, my parents used something very similar to prepare sandwiches. It's toasted the bread enough to give it a panini like feel.Driven by nostalgia, I took the plunge and got this.This was very badly constructed compared to the ones my parents had and used.The hinge is too tight making opening and closing this a challenge.Even on the lowest flame setting, the bread just sticks to the metal and burns.I have even used oil, butter and mayonnaise to make sure the bread doesn't get burned and stick, but it's no use.I have used it 3 to 4 times and every time,after using it, I had to clean this with vinegar, salt and baking powder to remove the burnt stuck bread off.Sometimes, I even had to scrape the burnt part out with a knifeJust not worth it

It feels cheap, like the hinge will break in no time. And the handle is very short. You gotta get into the fire with it to reach.

Purchased for my husband. He loves it reminds him of sandwiches that were made when he was a small boy.
