Not easy picking knives on line but I did a lot of research. I'd made the mistake of buying some Wustoff knives that had nasty cheap plastic handles, so wanting to be be sure this time around. Well these knives are the business, nicely weighted, razor sharp and comfortably shaped handles. But the best thing about this set, apart from the superb quality, is that they are the right mix of sizes for everyday use. So many sets have too many long knives and too few small/medium knives. This set doesn't have a lot of knives but they are exactly the ones you need. Just two things to be aware of, the block is angled at about 45o and hence does protrude a bit across the worktop and the handle of the sharpening steel is not Henkel branded (different to the one shown in the graphic). Overall, this is an amazing value set of knives that look and function of professional quality.

I bought the same set for myself a few years ago and love them. Because of that I bought a set for my daughter and there has been a significant cost reduction on the set. This time I got no block, no scissors and the handles are made of a much inferior material. Having said that my daughter still thinks they are good knives.

I really love them and the price is a real bargain, the sum of the prices of each item would be more than double. The quality of Zwilling is well known, the handles are much ergonomic, the knives are light but well balanced and their sharpness and sturdiness are just perfect. The sharpener steel is much better quality than I expected. I bought many knives and many of them were Zwilling, but by far this is the best purchase I've done. I totally recommend them.

The knife set is good quality. But I've never before encountered a kitchen knife set, that doesn't actually have a carving knife included. Sure there's a meat slicing knife, but it's got a 6" blade. For anyone who's carved a turkey or even a leg of lamb, you'll know you really need an 7" blade.(Edit)Having now had them for a few days, I have to say the quality of the steel is very good. I like the knives a lot. Someone else stated that the knives arrive unsharpened - I agree, the edge on arrival is dull. For everything but the bread-knife, it's a few swipes on the steel to sort out. Putting an edge on a bread knife isn't quite as straight-forward however. It does seem to me to be a bit of an issue. Why wouldn't they be factory sharpened?.. the edge would last for months on knives this good
