Heavier than expected, but very sturdy. I got these stairs for the times my senior dog hesitates to get up in the backseat. He scares easily so I wanted to make sure he felt secure on the stairs from the first use (if I scare him with a small/cheap one, he may be unwilling to try a more expensive one later). These had no wobble or instability at all. I think he appreciated the traction and padding on the treads, too. It's our first set of car stairs, they do seem heavy but that's probably a good thing because he's a big boy. They fold down smoothly and I keep them in the back. A smaller dog might be able to do with a cheaper/ lighter set, but for an older large-breed dog who needs a wider frame, these are good.

After I was lucky to adopt a 110 lb. Golden Retriever, I began a search for a ramp to help get her in the car. My first choice was a carpeted foldable ramp which worked fine for a few rides and soon she refused to go up the ramp as her feet would slide. After a new search I found the Jovan extra wide set of stairs which I ordered. On my first use, I had no trouble getting her to use the steps. After her first time using the steps, all I have to do is mention “ride” and she rushes to go up the steps. I have no problem with her going up and down as needed. I absolutely love the Jovan dog stairs. I would highly recommend these stairs for transporting large dogs. These stairs set up and hook onto the car very easily. They have really helped solve the problem I was having with just a ramp.

Easy to open and close. My dog adjusted to using it quickly. I keep it with me at home and for traveling. I have to use it for the hatch or front passenger door because my rear passenger door doesn’t open wide enough for it.

I got this for the three older dogs that live with us. I haven't had the opportunity to havethem use it yet but I set it up and it seems quite stable

These steps are perfect for my arthritic older dog. I originally used a sliding ramp which he could not walk up because it took too much hip and back leg strength which he does not have. These steps are like my door steps and he maneuvers them good. I also have a short legged dog and she is great with it also. I recommend these steps for any for any dog!!!

My elderly Standard Poodle was having difficulty getting into our RAV4. I purchased this item and after a few tries she walks up the steps and into the back with ease. It folds up and stores out of the way. I recommend this product.
