I purchased this coffee storage canister from coffee gator to replace a basic container (essentially tupperwear and a basic ceramic pot) which I felt didn't maintain the freshness of my coffee beans and left me with stale tasting coffee.The thing that sets this canister apart from other containers is the filter and ability to vent out the carbon dioxide (which beans naturally emit) that spoils the beans. It does this at the same time as keeping coffee spoiling oxygen out. The filters it comes with are effective (yay – no more stale coffee) and last a really long time. Should you need a replacement you can easily purchase more online (though this might take some years as there are a number of replacements included with the initial purchase).There’s a handy date wheel on the top (which I haven’t really had need for to be honest) that is super easy to use and gives you a useful reminder of when your coffee might be past its best. Most people reading this won’t have that kind of problem I expect.The container’s stylish and a kind of brushed steel. It seems to be solidly made and has lasted well for the time I have had it with no signs of deterioration. It slots nicely into my cupboard though it would also look pretty nice sitting on a counter. It comes with a handy scoop for the beans (30ml/1/8cup) which is great for transporting them from canister to grinder and I find gives the right amount for a cup. The canister and the scoop are a real doddle to clean.All in all, this is a fantastic purchase for coffee aficionados who want to have the best coffee they possibly can. Coffee-lovers would love receiving this as a gift. Needed something to put my ground coffee in its perfect larger than I thought but does the job keeps my coffee fresh great value on offer at the time excellent quality

Large version of this container so be mindful of how much coffee you want to store. Suitable for beans or ground coffee. Sturdy with good airtight seal and clasp lock. Includes built in filter and a dial to record date of last fill. Check dimensions for storage.

I decided to get two of these smaller Coffee Gator canisters instead of one large one. It means I can either keep two different types of coffee on the go or, when I buy in bulk, keep one canister sealed for maximum freshness while I work through the other. This approach also minimises the amount of air the grounds are exposed to, which you wouldn't get with a half-empty larger tin.The canisters themselves look great and feel very well made. They certainly do a much better job of keeping my coffee fresh compared to the basic bags, tins or jars coffee often comes in, thanks to the airtight seal and the CO2 valve. It's a nice touch that they include a generous number of replacement filters (four in the box), so they should last a good while. The containers are easy to use, and easy to clean once you've finished your grounds.I did notice a couple of minor imperfections. The numbers on the date tracker dial on one of my canisters are noticeably off-centre, though this isn't a feature I personally use. They also stack, but the indent for the dial on the lid creates a slight wobble; a firmer design for stacking would be a welcome improvement. I imagine you could still comfortably stack three or four of these without much wobbbe. These are small points on what is otherwise an excellent storage solution.

I bought this caddy for fresh coffee beans, which need to be kept in an airtight container, free of light.The coffee gator tin is great quality, and has a secure, air tight fitting lid, with solid clip.It has a co2 release valve and also a dial on the top to indicate the date the coffee was opened, or the date the coffee was roasted if you have that information.I actually already had the smaller version of these tins, but wanted something to fit more coffee. This will comfortably hold 2x 250g bags of beans. At a push you may get 3x250g bags depending on the bean size, but I haven’t managed that so far.
