Slow start, but now an big healthy plant!
I waited a full six months to post my review, as I wasn't certain whether or not this thing would grow in Kansas. I bought the preferred banana plant soil, and the plant food specific for bananas. I went months and months with a two or three inch plant that was alive, but not impressiveWhen the weather improved I moved this to the front porch where I could mist it with the hose daily, and allow access to sunlight, albeit still slightly shaded. I'm quite impressed with the progress. I'm seeing new leaf formation through the center column at least every week, and it has not been affected by insects or storms.I did add some sand to the top layer of soil to prevent standing water around the roots, which apparently is a known issue for these plants. I initially used spangum moss, but the soil developed a musty fungal smell, and I didn't feel that was healthy.I do anticipate bringing this one inside for the winter months as temps in my area are below freezing intermittently for two or three months each year.Kudos on the quality plant! Advice for others - plan for big results, but have patience. Those first few months I was quite skeptical.

HEALTHY, REAL, LIVE
BANANAS 🍌 are coming, hopefully next year. Came in the mail packed nice and arrived healthy with new leaves already sprouting. Nice deep green color.

Grown sideways and will likely die!
It arrived healthy and in the process of growing a new leaf. While the plastic container was fully wrapped, given these plants love water and cannot dry out, I was surprised there wasn’t a damp towel or something to keep it from drying. It was also under 3 inches when it arrived and the tips of the leaves were burnt, showing that it had grown overly exposed to harsh sunlight. I kept it on a warmer in its original container for a couple days to adjust to its new conditions before planting it in a pot with well draining soil. The new leaf has already fully opened and another had already grown over halfway tall enough, over the past week. When I turn the plant lights on in the morning it is sweating, which is a great sign - but the leaves remain dry during the day, so (after research) I have added a tray of water and pebbles, and have purchased a misting spray bottle along with fertilizer. This is my first tiny banana tree in a few years, having purchased/grown several varieties (advertised as truly tiny) in the past…only one of the past plants turned out to be this variate (the others growing 8-9 feet)…but I haven’t had any luck actually getting them to produce bananas. In the past I’ve tried hot houses and about every fertilizer on the market…although I don’t live in a zone with outdoor conditions humid enough, they still turned out absolutely beautiful and extremely reproductive. Hopefully this plant turns out to be the advertised variant and I can keep it indoors to control it’s growing conditions to possibly actually get it to produce bananas and not simple clones of itself….time will tell…and I will definitely update this review if this one ends up producing, or on the sad end - not being the correct variant, as my past plants all arrived originally looking the same.Update: after my baby banana plant arrived about a month ago already growing at an angle, it has grown almost twice the size but each leaf is separating from the plant on 3 sides because the bigger it gets the further it angles as it originally arrived, and not how I planted it or towards the light. Having had good experiences with growing truly tiny banana plants for the past five years, I am highly concerned that before it’s even half grown, possibly within a couple of months it will be so heavy only on one side that it won’t survive. I have loved my previous plants from this company and am highly disappointed, furious really, that they not only allowed it to grow like that without correcting it very early on, but that they actually sold me a plant that won’t be able to support its own weight because of their lack of care!

Arrived healthy!
I ordered 2 and they arrived in very good shape about a week ago. They have transplanted and are doing well.

Good quality
Plant came in good quality. Didn't plant it right away (2-3 days waiting) and still had a good plant. My children broke the top off and all I found was a root ball. Planted it a few weeks ago and the darn thing is now 2-3 inches tall. Good quality plants.

Ok
A bit overpriced but arrived alive and growing. Banana trees tend to grow fast, hoping the same here

Leaf Rot 2 Days Later
The plant arrived 4 days before the expected delivery date. It traveled from FL to the southwest very quickly. It arrived looking healthy with some slight browning on the newest leaf's tip and base. Easy to unpack and straight forward directions. Plant came with damp soil so it wasn't dried out.2 days later, the newest leaf has completely rotted and the new one that is coming in afterwards is also rotted. I am worried for the viability of this plant if it is rotting from the inner growth point. I have only bottom watered it once straight after delivery per the instructions the plant came with so water has not been sitting in that part. This seems to be something it came with. I am experienced with tropical plant care and it's disappointing that the plant may not survive since the rot is happening on the newest growths and I just received it. Very disappointed since I've been looking forwards to owning a 'truly tiny' banana cultivar for a while.
