Great mouthguard
The first grinding mouth I got was from my dentist, years ago, which I ground down to dust in a month. I complained as a mouth guard that expensive should last longer. When I showed my mouth guard to my dentist, he joked and asked if I had run it over with a car!So finding a decent mouth guard for myself is a task as they don’t last or are too big. This one is perfect and I don’t feel like I have a hockey puck in my mouth. My only complaint, and this is largely me, but I wish it were slightly thicker for cushioning. It is a super hard material but I like that. Overall, I still wore on this mouth guard in the first month. But I would guess this will last six months for me, which is pretty good.So unless you chew on it like a dog, like I do, this one will last a very long time—likely a year or more.

nightmare
I had high hopes for this product. Nice concept, good pricepoint.Apparently, you need to get the shape PERFECT on the 1st or 2nd try of the heating process, otherwise a disaster ensues. "Remolding up to 20 times" is false marketing. This thing stretches and loses its chemistry after the first one or two tries. Is there a temperature that ruins it, somewhere close to boiling? If so, is Sova willing to share what that temperature is?On my 1st attempt I followed the instructions to a T, heated the water to the prescribed temperature -- even digitally measured it with a thermometer -- then, when I removed the mouth guard from my teeth, a portion of the back had stuck to itself. I place it back into the water but failed to get the back piece unstuck with a knife. So I decided to live with the imperfection and attempted to get the shape "good enough" for use. On my 2nd attempt, I noticed the little round holes had started to stretch after removing it from the water. The shape came out wrong again. I inserted back into the water. By this point the mouth guard had visibly stretched and no longer would revert to its normal shape/chemistry no matter what the water temperature. The round holes had become permanent lines. It was unusable. On the 5th try or so, I eventually cut the grossly stretched back portions with scissors, heated all of it in the water, and stuck the cut pieces to the top of the guard to try to rebuild its shape & ply. Eventually, it felt like I was working like play dough. Hours later, having swallowed plenty of plastic fragments that hopefully won't kill me, I eventually gave up. I now have an unsightly, blob of a nightguard that fits my teeth, but cuts my gums due to the irregularities and sharp edges.

Works for adults with braces!! Remoldable, thin, and easy to use!
The SOVA Aero Night Guard has been the only night guard that's worked for my night grinding now that I started using braces. I tried 4 different night guards and SOVA's is super thin, easy to mold, and most importantly for someone with braces, you can re-mold it many times! What's so cool about this night guard is the plastic technology and that it starts off flat. Other night guards I tried with my braces couldn't fit around them, were super thick, or could only be molded once. With braces, my teeth move constantly - sometimes daily. The SOVA guard can be fully re-molded with just a few seconds in hot water, or I learned I can just get a small portion of it wet and re-mold parts of it.Another thing is that it is super thin compared with many other night guards, and it grips to fit your teeth so it's not falling off at night. You can breathe with it and swallow fairly naturally, way better than others. One thing to be cautious of: for braces users, don't leave the guard molding the first time you mold it for the full 8-10 minutes it says, I sucked for too long and the guard wrapped around my braces LOL. It literally got stuck to them. Mold it for less time and don't press your lips so tightly, play with the guard so it doesn't mold around or into the braces. Other than that, you'll be golden.I highly recommend this night guard for any adult with braces!! It has stopped my jaw pain, what a massive relief, and all for an affordable price!

Difficult to mold, but well worth the effort!
Best mouth guard out there! I have been grinding my teeth since I was a kid, and I've tried all the mouth guards at the store. I even bought one of the kits that you mail in with your teeth impressions for custom mouth guards. This is much much better than all of those. It fits me just like my husband's $1000 mouth guard from the dentist fits him.The only negatives are that it was difficult to get mine to mold to my teeth. I had to use water considerably hotter than the directions started to get it to mold.

Still recommend this product
Update: I did love this product but my most recent versions have been troublesome in that I think they have changed the formula a bit, affecting how much they shrink when cooled. It makes it hard now to get a fit that does not put excess pressure on your teeth causing discomfort. It was bad enough that I thought I needed to see my dentist for a different unknown issue. No, it was just my new night guard fitting too tightly. Keep in mind I have fitted at least 3 of these with no issues and I fit them on the loose side since all things that get heated will shrink. I can't really recommend these as much as I did before.I have been using Sova night guards with the approval of my dentist for 3+ years and I still recommend them. The product is very easy to use and I have had no problems molding them. They are comfortable to sleep in and very unobtrusive. They have also protected my dental work very well. I have had a lot of work done, particularly due to my grinding damaging my teeth to begin with, and the Sova guard had helped reduce the wear and tear on my teeth. I replace the guards every year as over time you do get wear on the plastic but that's the whole point of the product. The price is also very reasonable and as far as my dentist is concerned, on par with custom fitted guards that are expensive and not always covered by dental insurance (which is ridiculous).

Finally a good over the counter night guard
These are the best over the counter self formed mouth guards I've been able to find for teeth grinding. I've tried 3 or 4 others.
