After using this can opener I will never go back to the crank turning method. This can opener is so easy to use and I love....love... love the way the lid does not touch the food inside of the can. No sharp edges to cut oneself with. I highly recommend this can opener to any one who has arthritis or any mobility problems with their hands. Affordable and functional opener for side cutting the top seam on the can. This allows for a resealing lid and no sharp edges to cut fingers on. Ideal for pet food cans.

I had to try to use it a second time because it was so smooth, I didn't realize it was cutting the side of the can! I was very impressed by the new ergonomic way it cuts through the top of the can. The only thing I found was that turning the knob was a bit difficult since I have an injured arthritic knuckle. Great invention though!

Had this type of opener of another brand for years. It worked flawlessly until it just wore out. That one was no longer available so I got this one to replace it. Unfortunately, it only works if held very carefully at just the right angle, otherwise it just destroys the can lip. My wife cannot get it to work at all. I didn’t complain, too cheap a thing to fuss about. But since you asked, I sure would not recommend it.

I wasn't even aware of this type of can opener design until I saw this one. It was interesting looking and even though I never experienced shards with other can opener designs I would give this "shard free" one a try. It holds easy but it's so tough to turn. My boyfriend and I both have trouble using this in our dominant hand. It causes actual strain in mine so I can imagine older or joint issue people having a hard time with this. The worst part is that it does make tiny shards on the can lip. This was never an issue for me before and now it is after buying this can opener. Less shards are produced if you make less turns on the handle like a smooth single turn but that's only possible with a tiny can like tomato paste. It takes at least 4 or 5 turns for a can of coconut milk and then you get tiny metal flakes. I just carefully remove the top and wipe the edges with wet paper upward and outward to not knock in the metal bits. My boyfriend just stabs open cans with a knife. I'll eventually replace and do not recommend this can opener. I like the general appearance and novelty of the design though so I bumped it up to a 3 stars.

I really like the whole idea of a side cutting can opener. However, a friend of mine had a different brand side opener that was a bit aggravating to use so I hesitated getting my own. As it turns out the CORKAS is crazy easy to use. In fact, after first using it I went looking around the kitchen for more cans to open. (I know that sound rather sad doesn't it?) It's not as cheap as many openers but based on the quality I see I'm inclined to say it is the last can opener I will ever need to buy.

This is the stiffest, most hard to turn can opener I have ever used. It works and is a work out.

My mom said that they wanted a "good" can opener for Christmas, so I was going to find her the best can opener money can buy! I didn't think I would find it for under $15! First, you don't even have to clean this product because it only touches the can! It actually cuts around the side of the can vs. the top of it. When I had to give medicine to the cat, we used wet food to crush the pill. This can opener cut around the can so that you can place the lid back on the can and the wet food didn't dry out. Needless to say, I bought this for my parents for Christmas. But it was so great, we took theirs and ordered another for my mom. Then told my SIL about it and I ordered one for her also. She said it changed her life! I believe this is the 3rd review I've ever written about any product, but this was well worth it!
