I wanted something that was simple but robust enough to take a few knocks when I’m working in the garage and this came out top in my research. It’s fair to say that I’m not disappointed. The speaker is waterproof, dustproof, and rustproof with an IP67 rating, which is ideal for the garage environment. It can be used vertically or horizontally, so it has a small footprint, and doesn’t take up much room in the workspace, but I can also hang it by the carrying handle. It paired with my phone, my partner’s phone, and a tablet with no issues at all.To me, the sound is brilliant. I was warned that the bass might not be great, but it has handled all of my special ‘test the speaker out’ tunes and although there could be more bass, what’s is there is more than adequate for the average person, especially if you use the ULT button. I do have the option to add an additional linked speaker in the future if I want to. The battery life is good, too, and I can get at least 2 or 3 evenings out of it before it needs to be charged. All-in-all, a great bit of kit that’s worth the money. Recommended.

I watched a lot of YouTube videos on various bluetooth speakers around this size range. Most agreed that while the sound quality is good, the bass is not as powerful as some of its competitors. That suited me as although I like bass, I don't like it overpowering. You can give the bass a boost with the ULT button if you desire and it certainly is noticeable. I'm certainly not an audiophile, but I do appreciate good sound quality and in my opinion, these speakers deliver.I decided to buy 2 of them as I read they can be linked using the Sony Music Centre app for stereo sound. It was easy to set this up with the app and the results are great. I connected them to my TV and it sounds so much better than just coming through the TV. Being portable you can space them far apart for a better experience. They also link to my turntable, phone, and iPad with no problem.They feel quality, look quality, and sound quality. Can't go wrong with Sony.

Great Sony sound. You would think it was coming from a midi system. Bluetooth lag is minimal, so I use mine as a sound bar too. Top quality and surprisingly for Sony, value for money!

This is one of the best speakers I've bought on Amazon.But it makes a terrible sound when the sound output is changed from normal to ULT boost and there seems to be no way of turning off the sound effect noise that it makes. Really horrible when you're playing music and want to change the output, although the ULT option does really boost the sound volume and energy.There is also only Bluetooth input and no wired input so you can only play music from Bluetooth devices which is a bit disappointing. I think this is something that should have been mentioned in the product description.Each speaker is mono by itself and has to be paired with another to get stereo, but it has a great sound, mono or stereo.

I couldn't figure out how to connect this product via Bluetooth, so I sent it back. I needed a manual for this, but there wasn't one. For those with experience with this type of connection, this is a great product; the shape and color are nice. The Sony really is a product with very good sound quality.

Excellent Bluetooth speaker with a custom EQ option, that allows it to be a very good low volume audio book or podcast speaker for going to sleep listening to either. The music sound quality is also great and works well with my phone, tablet and Laptop bluetooth connections.Bought a second one and have used them connected together which is simple and quick to setup and is maintained when the units are switched off and then back on.The EQ settings are set via the Sony connect app and then remembered by the speakers even when switching to a different source.Very impressed oveall

This is a nice Bluetooth speaker with a USB-C for charging the speaker and for charging your phone if needs be. I have played various music on it at medium volume (Pearl Jam, Dylan, Afro Man...) and the sound quality is good. I recommend leaving the factory settings and not adjusting the sound via the Sony app. You don't need the app to run this speaker - you can connect directly to your phone to play music. I also like the rope handle for carrying the speaker - very cool.I think for the price, this is a good option and you won't be disappointed unless you really want to crank up the volume and play heavy metal music or something like that. In which case, you should look for a more expensive Bluetooth and larger speaker if you want it for larger parties. This unit is fine for providing plenty of sound for a single room.All in all, I am happy with this purchase and can recommend it.
