Amazing Laser Printer, Flawless Wireless Setup
An amazingly simple, flawless installation. I hate installing my printers because they usually requirea lot of time and effort to get the wireless printer recognized by all devices , to get the scan feature properly set up and all the other things that most people are tortured with when setting up a new printer. The Air Print feature works flawlessly with my Windows notebook, my iPhone and my iPad.This is a quality made, durable printer that Brother is known for but this models particularly effortless setup , sharp printing quality with crisp, clear B&W copies is the best that I have seen in laser printers at this affordable price. I spent hours researching the different Brother printers and decided this model was the best based on ratings, reviews and online professionals. I love this printer and it’s so quiet when printing or scanning that I can’t even hear it printing out the document. I strongly recommend this model for those who are looking for a quality laser printer, scanner, fax, all in one machine. This model works better than more expensive laser machines and you will enjoy the simplicity of its wireless setup and never need to think about having quality printer performance ever again. There is no mandatory toner subscription plan which is a plus as you can buy Brother OEM toner or off brand compatible toner whenever you want to purchase them. It comes with a starter OEM toner that does 700 pages and there are high performance 3000 page toner’s that are available to buy once the starter cartridge is used up. Great high quality product in a world of other manufacturers garbage printers.

Generally works well as expected
Pros: Easy to unpack and setup. Good quality printing. Prints quickly and accurately. Duplex printing works well. Auto feeder works well for scanning or copying. Mobile Connect App is a good app and very useful. Apple AirPrint works well. Sounds like it’s built solidly but too early to tell.Cons: installation instructions could be explained better. Scanning directly to an email address from the Scan button on the printer display didn’t work and there are no explanations for an error message I received. Customer support didn’t have an answer. I had to use an App from the printer display and pre-register the email address ahead of time. Very cumbersome and annoying. Scan to email from the Mobile Connect app worked better but now multiple devices are involved. Not ideal.

Great printer
We had an HP printer and had nothing but trouble with it so we bought a Brother printer and it works perfectly. It was easy to set up and use from every device wireless app.

A Homeschool Must-have!
This printer is perfect for our homeschool needs! While only printing in black and white, it has the capability to print front and back automatically in several different formats, which has saved us LOADS of time copying and printing pages for our young kids. Paper jams are infrequent, but easy to handle, as they mostly get jammed in a rear panel that can be easily removed. It also has wireless printing capabilites, so as long as your phone is connected to the same wifi network as your printer, you can print from your phone as well, which has been very convenient when we find random resources while scrolling online.

Brother printer cartridges print less than half the number of pages that Brother claims it will
My printing needs are light, app. 30-40 pp. per month; my old HP Laserjet finally bit the dust so I bought the Brother L2900DW in early Feb 2025; it came with toner cartridge TN830XL which Brother states will print 700 pages; in mid-May the control panel stated that the toner cartridge was empty and needed to be replaced; the printer bricked itself, refusing to print a single additional page; I had printed about 1/2 of a of ream paper, i.e. app. 250 sheets - about 1/3 of the 700 sheets Brother said it would print. I feel ripped off by the scant number of pages Brother promised versus what Brother actually delivered. One reason I did not buy another HP printer was that HP will now allow HP cartridges and ONLY HP cartridges to be used in its machines, a condition that I find grossly unacceptable and unfair. Therefore, I chose Brother because it did not impose that onerous condition on its customers that HP did. Now I discover that Brother has a different way of gut punching its customers, i.e. its toner cartrideges deliver less than half the number printed pages that it promises. Had I known this before buying the printer, I never would have purchased the Brother printer. Caveat emptor. Caveat emptor. Caveat emptor.
