Makes a good, solid connection once you get used to it
It took a bit to get used to it after years of using a regular crimping tool but it works well. When you line them up to push them through it feels like it's not going to go then all of a sudden slides right in. I usually push them up until the cable jacket is under the crimp connector. For outdoor use you would definitely need some heat shrink tubing or an IP65 dust cover around the opening. Nice that it comes with a few extra blades but it would've been great if there was a place on the tool to store them instead of just a baggie in the connector jar.

Well Made Tool
I did not want to buy these at first for the fact I have never used pass through connectors before. So I bought these since they were good priced. After getting them and falling in love with pass through connectors I fell in love with this tool. It is very well made and works very well. I like how it has the a and b order of the wire pattern on then.

Makes for error free terminations
First package came empty. Contacted Amazon, sent out a replacement right away. I did have to suffer through a few errors in telling me that I had to send back the first set of tools, but that was taken care of with a phone call. The crimpers work great. Only flaw is that the cutter seems to wear out quickly, especially at the end. Seems like pin 8 or 1 is always left uncut. Good news is that the tool comes with an extra set of cutter blades.

90% of every RJ 45 fails with this crimp tool on the first try
This crimping tool will give you problems. Does not crimp down #4 and sometimes 4 & 5. I recommend getting a good rj45 crimp tool

Works for a little while.
Works well at first, after 150+ crimps the part that compresses your gold pins on the rj45 to the cat5e wire fails. I was getting error readings when testing, not due to the wrong pattern but due to the crimp not fully setting the rj45.Also the blade that strips your cat5e cable jacket applies too much pressure and will cut into the wire underneath.
