I received this yesterday and my cat has literally played with it for 8 hours already. Even when he gets tired of it and walks away, it’s only a few minutes before he is back at it again! Essentially he is giving up because he is tired, but after a minute or two of this little string “daring to mock him”, he comes back to try to teach it a lesson; LOL, clearly a love/hate relationship...He has gotten pretty aggressive with it and it is holding up to his abuse without fail. The very durable string is mounted to basically an elastic conveyor belt, so every time he manages to catch the string, he can pull it out a little bit from the plastic base. When this happens, this thing is designed to essentially stop the motor, which starts right back up again the second he lets go; and I don’t know if this is by design, but as he pulls the string and conveyor away from the plastic unit, it seems to make a noise that mimics the shreak of a dying mouse or bird, which makes him absolutely crazy! Every once in a while he will pull on it extremely hard and it will get a little bit out of alignment, but it only takes me about 5 seconds to fix and it really isnt a problem at all. Although this product is meant to be set up on a door (which was so easy to install and the cat loves it there), I also tried attaching it to my cat tree which is even better! By putting it somewhere on a cat tree, he can now look at it and attack it from different angles. Even when he gets “sick of it”, I just turn it off for an hour and when I restart it he’s right back at it! He is a very high energy cat and this thing totally wore him out. Without a doubt, this is by far the best cat toy I have ever purchased! I applaud the designers; it is so simple, but a totally genius product. It gets out all of his restless energy and it saves me the hassle of having to play with him for hours on end. He slept so well last night and when I turned it back on this morning, he couldn’t wait to pounce on it again!

A kitty of mine, that has since passed away loved this toy for several years, and she loved ALL parts of it, as she not only chewed up the rotating elastic with the string attached, but also the black elastic strap that goes around the door to secure the entire toy. After she was gone, I sadly put the toy away, but I now have two new furry bosses, and one really likes this toy. The manufacturer promptly replaced the rotating elastic a few years ago, and is sending me a new door holder elastic now. When they say lifetime guarantee, they mean it! Talk about durability! Sadie played with this toy from 11-2017 until she passed 10-2021. I am a small animal vet and have told several of my kitty parents about this toy, as part of enrichment for their little furry friends. If your cat loves strings, this toy is for them!

This toy was absolutely amazing for my cats!!!! For about 6 months after continuous usage my cats burnt the motor out… I will say I definitely spent more in AA batteries then I did originally on the toy, but if they ever come out with a rechargeable version I will definitely buy it!

The media could not be loaded. There are several pros as well as cons to this toy. It's a great idea, no other like it. I bought high mah rechargeable batteries which help a lot. Now...I've read a lot of reviews on here. Some I agree, some are strange(as usual). After a day, the string kept getting stuck at the top of the roller. My cat would meow when it happened which told me she was mad. So I'd untangle it....and untangle it.....and unangle it. Everything in the rollers is clean. It KEPT happening because from being stuck, the string formed a circlular pattern in the shape of the roller. It it is a little rough on the door, but nothing damaging. For $30 though, I'd have thought for all the rave, a more durable string, as well as safer string could be used. Also, some sort of way to replace the string. A long string, short string etc... Is it worth $30? Not really. $20, yes. Cat loves it though, but definitely need to keep a frequent eye when she is playing with it. For string tangles, and possible safety risks like the string coming off, or being eaten. The concept is FANTASTIC and it's quieter than most electric toys I've tried. Some are REDICULOUSLY loud. Hence my 3 star review. It's almost a 4, except for the price and the safety concerns. For the price, there shouldn't be the safety concerns that are involved with the toy. Do I recommend it? Yes. But I would NOT leave it on while your out of the house. If you do, don't get on here and write reviews that your cat was injured. You left your cat unsupervised and it CLEARLY SAYS,USE WITH SUPERVISION. Therefore, it's also your fault, in part of the safety concerns of the toy.Now, I had to get it replaced once because the motor blew. Got replacement, and 2 weeks later...boom. Stopped working again motor shot. What's up with this??? Twice?? This manufacturer needs to do something about the motors. I'm not the only one.
