Perfect For Antenna Users
Works perfectly. This is my second or third time ordering this converter box and it does last a long time. Its great for me as I don't have cable so this is a win for me. I can pull some of the same local channels as those on cable. I'll reorder this same brand again. And the price is reasonable as well. It comes with a remote which is a little bit longer than the box itself, which shows it doesn't take up very much room at all. Digital display is bright and suitable for those who are a bit visually impaired. Very simple and easy to set up and use. Plus you can manually use the buttons on the front of the box if the remote gets misplaced.

Cut the cable cord with this converter/recorder box
Great product at a great price. I'm saving over 100$ per month by cutting the cable ball and chain with a one time purchase of ~30$. The owners manual is 24 pages long and includes instillation instructions as well as how to use the remote control efficiently. Most everything about the set up and use was intuitive. The manual was super helpful for the few things I didn’t get right away. My biggest complaint is the error/information windows that pop up on screen are white text on light blue background. I have to be sitting near the screen or put my glasses on to see what they say. (Pretty small complaint!!).The box itself has a tiny footprint.I bought a thumb drive and formatted it. I've tried all the features including recording a program while I was away from home. Worked great. When getting into playback mode from my thumb drive I have to be patient. It takes 10 or 15 seconds to pull up the recording while there is a pop up that lets me know "it's working on it".I have experience with a different brand of converter box/recorder. My Ematic AT102 puts the other brand to shame. It is just what I wanted, and it looks like I will be getting a second box to replace the under performing other brand.

It's a little primitive but works very well
Really pleased with this bargain unit. Does everything I wanted it to do. The only real issue I have concerns the instructions. It took me a considerable amount of time on the first day to work things out. I suggest that the manufacturer post clearer and much more detailed instructions. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied. (Maybe a second issue, albeit a minor one: The remote is quite small, and the buttons are likewise quite small, to the point where I've unintentionally pressed one button while intending to press another.)

Pleasantly Surprised ! ! ! !
Bought this tuner to connect my CRT 32" Sony to a digital antenna. Only real issue i had was the antenna comes with a amplifier that is USB powered so connecting to the coaxial input required an extension cable for the USB power source but otherwise works great. Tune anywhere from 85-110 channels depending on location of antenna. My sole purchase was to tune in local channels to watch football over the fall and winter. So far per this area FOX was difficult but finally got it tuned in as well as CBS,NBC, and CW which carries SEC games. The trouble network is ABC and it comes and goes. Now the tuner actually helps keep weaker signal channels tuned in where's the same channels on my Panasonic LCD the picture cracks up or freezes. The tuner acts as amp and keeps crisp clear picture. But like others mentioned the manual has the feel of reading a novel not simple instruction book. My advice connect tuner use the onscreen menu to get initial set up and stick to basic functions on remote or you will go banana's trying to explore and master all the features this inexpensive tuner has to offer.

Missing features & didn't record
There's no RECORD WEEKLY feature, it didn't record scheduled programs, and it didn't let me edit booked programs.

Don't buy to record anything with the PVR feature. Fine for just watching live tv.
I use it to tune in broadcast channels and it's fine for that. The setup was fairly easy and I can watch all of my local broadcast channels. Recently I tried to get it to record a show using its PVR recording feature and it's a nightmare. The menu lags and caches your inputs while it's frozen, only to respond to all of your button presses when it finally comes back to life causing all sorts of problems. The programming process is like programming an 80's VCR, but not as simple.Bottom line: Buy this if you want to tune in your local channels. If you want to record any shows, look at other products.

DTV Converter - 100% AWESOME Power supply went out
Just three months and it's quit. It's cool. It was just the power adapter. I have now connected it with a USB type wall charger. - The original power adapter checked OK on a volt meter, at 5.4 VDC, so I thought the device was burned out, but when I checked the power supply while connected to the DTV box, it only showed 2 VDC, so I plugged in a USB charger and it works on it! So I'm good with it and again say it's 100% awesome! This has so much cool stuff on it. I'm sure I haven't tried all of it out, but I am totally pleased with it.You can go into the menu, and scroll to a program, and click on it to automatically record it. You can set it to record each time that program plays, or just once. You can also pause a show that is broadcasting. For example, your sister calls, so you click the rec button, then the pause button, and talk to your sister for as long as you want to, then when you're done with your phone call click the play button, and it starts again right where you paused. It has a very clear picture, and excellent sound. I am using the HDMI to TV, but it also has other output choices like RCA A/V. It's got a lot of features I don't even know yet. I'm a simple user, and I can record a show, then take the USB drive to my laptop and play the show there, I can even record it on other devices and DVD, and those features alone are worth the price! BUT - the best thing I like about it is that if I want to watch the old 1970s Zenith color console down stairs in the den, I can. That old TV is made for VHF and UHF only, but this little box opens it up to all the newest TV and Cable so once again that '70s Zenith can play all the TV and movies, even youtube, on that old time cathode ray tube!So go for it. You will be glad you did!
