Great for raising and releasing Monarch butterflies.
I bought one last year and just bought 2 more. The size is perfect for holding 20+ caterpillars and all the milkweed they need. The wide zippered opening and plastic floor (which I line with paper towels) makes cleaning their poop and caring for milkweed a breeze. The 3 sides of fine mesh allows for air flow and keeps all other insects (even ants) out. The clear plastic on the 4th side allows for easy observation of the enclosure and protection from the elements.I keep mine outside so I wish the plastic bottom was a bit thicker. I also would like it to be a bit sturdier. Initially it would tilt and had fallen over when it's windy and while I was working inside it. Not a big deal. I both secured it to a nearby bench by the handles and added some natural pebbles to bottom of milkweed plants and in small containers with lidsI highly recommend this habit for helping to increase the declining number of Monarchs.

Great Protector
Nice size, very sturdy. Purchased because of nice size. I immediately cut the bottom out of this Habitat and mounted it above my Monarch's favorite milkweed plant. Now the Monarch caterpillars can be protected from the flies as they develop.

Great Way To Raise Butterflies
As recent retirees my wife and I are looking for new and interesting hobbies. A friend of ours mentioned that he was raising Monarch Butterflies and offered to start us off with some milkweed plants. Milkweed are host plants and as the name suggests they are weeds and grow very rapidly. The host plant gets consumed by the caterpillars which are the second stage after eggs. They then become pupae which are shown in my pictures that also depict the Restcloud Habitat. After the pupae have about 6 days to mature the adult butterfly emerges. It's all an amazing process and highly recommended for anyone who loves nature. I just wish we had some grandchildren to share it with.We started out with a makeshift situation using some mesh laundry baskets to keep the milkweed in but that turned out to be too small and not a satisfactory way of doing things. My wife said it was crazy to spend $30 for a habitat but I just said to her "Wait and see. This is the best way of doing it." Once we got the habitat we were very pleased with it. I recommend the large one which is 3 feet tall and can accommodate the milkweed when fully grown. Right now we have 6 caterpillars about to form their pupae and one pupae hanging down from the netting. The habitat allows for easy viewing as it has a clear plastic front and the side panel has a full zipper that lets you open and shut it to water your milkweed and eventually free your butterflies.Great product. Well made and a very fair price. Highly recommended.

Roomy enclosure for raising butterflies
This butterfly enclosure provided a safe and comfortable place for raising monarch butterflies. I was able to fit two large milkweed plants in the enclosure. Once the butterflies emerged, they could safely move around until it was time for release. The pop-up feature is nice, because it makes it easy to fold up and store until I'm ready to use it again. The double zipper made opening and closing the enclosure safe; if there were any butterflies on the zipper, I was able to unzip the other one so as to not injure the butterfly. Just be sure to fully zip both sides closed so that they meet in the middle of the cage. The elastic straps used for holding it shut once collapsed came in handy, I attached one to my porch railing so that it wouldn't blow or move around. We especially liked the clear side for ease of viewing and observing all the changes that the monarchs go through.Once the butterflies were released, the enclosure was easy to spray clean with a hose. It dried very quickly.

Large Habitat - Perfect for Raising Butterflies!!!
I needed a larger habitat as my small one was just not big enough to accommodate plants and the butterflies once you get above 10 or so. Plus it gave me a secondary tent to move the butterflies into to give them room to fly once they emerged. Sometimes I have to hold them for several days due to the weather being below 60 degrees, raining or too windy to release.PROS:- Large size makes it easy to place larger milkweed plants in if you need several to feed the caterpillars.- Larger opening to maneuver nets and plants.- Mesh is easy to see thru to keep an eye on things but thick enough to keep harmful bugs out. Also a clear plastic side to make viewing easier.- Sturdy structure once opened- Collapses flat for easy storage- Smooth zipper opening and handles at top if needing to move.CONS:- Due to the larger size, it may be harder to maneuver outside to release butterflies.- No ties or way to hold screen door open and out of the way. Easy solution is to use a clothes bin, safety pin or chip clip but would be nice if a tie was included.Super easy and great way to protect the caterpillars and butterflies during inclement weather. Highly recommend.

Very spacious
I gave this four stars because the zipper doesn't always work. It's a great enclosure though if you want to help raise caterpillars to butterflies. This large size fits both a tall and small milkweed plant and is very spacious.

Great Butterfly Habitat
The media could not be loaded. Very large. Easily fits 3 or 4 medium sized potted planters. Easy assembly. Looks great.
