Killed my lotus plants
This media is essentially just gravel and does not contain any nutrients unlike regular pond planting media. I used this to start a lotus in a large pot with water and the plants died of malnutrition despite supplementation with food tabs. Likely this is because there are no nutrients inside the media itself. It's basically as good as gravel.

Happy with this media
I have used this product for the first time today. I really like the texture and the fact that it doesn't float when you place it into the pond as it submerges. I purchased 2 bags of media. I was able to transplant 2 6"pots and 1 12" pot with medial left over. I may have been able to get one more 6" pot out of what was left over. But I don't have a small plant to transplant. I have ordered more of this media. I have tried to use the clay balls, they were floaters even after allowed to soak as directed in the instruction. This media you soak and use right away. There is no 24hr wait. :) Thank you.

It floats
Some of it will float, and that is incredibly vexing. It's super light weight so it will scatter if disturbed. Very frustrating to work with. I don't know of a better alternative, but that doesn't mean this is a good product. I will probably buy again if I need a pond planting medium, but I'll also advise others it's not a very good option.

Ideal medium for bog or aquatic plants.
I use this product exclusively for my pond plants which are typically separated and repotted every spring following their winter sojourn in our garage/greenhouse. Plants are going great!

Seems to work well.
I planted a water lily in just the plant media. All I did in the way of fertilizer was to stir up sediment so it would seep in with the water when I put the pot under water. The root came to life quickly, the first pad is nearing the surface and it seems to be doing well.Three months later- the plant is thriving with no upkeep.

Easy five stars.
This is a great medium to grow plant in your pond. It really allows the roots to grow and it does add anything to your pond like soil would. I’m glad I stumbled spin this. Easy five stars.

Arrived quickly and I was able to get my newly ...
Arrived quickly and I was able to get my newly sprouted miniature lotus seeds grounded in the planting medium so they can really take off now. It had minimal dust as I have them in a glass bowl, I rinsed it off in a sieve so there was little to no haze, but in a pond, it would not have made a difference.
