One of my FAVORITE teapots!
I have several teapots, including two I made on a potter's wheel. This teapot is one of my favorites, and I use it the most. The other teapot, which I love a lot, is one of my handmade pots. But, this one actually is used more than my own creation. What I love about it:1. It is easy to clean.2. It keeps my tea warm.3. It is ergonomically designed to be extremely comfortable to pour.4. The diffuser is easy to clean and the pot can be used without it.Since this is one of my favorite teapots, and I probably have six or seven pots, I cannot think about a downside. I can think about a downside for nearly every other pot, except my other favorite one, which you cannot buy. I use this one more because I know it won't break, unlike the one I made.

Zero Complaints
At the risk of sounding like I've been paid by the company that sells this thing, I can't remember the last time I bought a product and thought, Wow, it's just perfect for what it is. I bought this to replace my caste iron pot bc the thing dripped tea every single time it was poured and the glaze was wearing away, which was concerning. The characteristics I was looking for: no spillage, the right volume for one person who likes strong black teas, a metal filter sleeve that extended most of the way down the body of pot (I don't think there is enough interplay between water and tea in those glass ones), a stainless steel frame bc otherwise I knew I'd break it, and a handle that was ergonomic so it wasn't a pain to pour. Also, even without a cozy, it keeps the temperature longer than I thought it would. There's nothing else to say other than, Wow, this thing is perfect.

Nearly perfect
I've spent the better part of 30 years as a professional taster and buyer of tea and coffee, and first encountered the Frieling coffee and tea products at a trade show, where their French Press proved very impressive. I'm glad I gave their teapot a try. After reading the other reviews I'd like to point out that Frieling seems to have made steady improvements to this pot. There are a couple of small holes for ventilation and draining on the rim now, and fit and finish are certainly excellent. That said, the pot could certainly still be improved. The infuser, while beautifully made, is much too small for really bold leaves such as Formosa Oolong, and also struggles to fully contain the expanded leaf of smaller leaf sizes when the dosage heads up towards the 3 grams per six ounces of water (industry standard is 2.5 grams) I and others living at high alittudes must use. It should be at least 25% larger, but I solve this problem by using a large size Finum infuser for such leaves. The only other obvious improvement would be to craft the pot from double-walled stainless steel, but this would undoubtedly double the price and add to the pot's current perfect weight. Through trial and error I've found that preheating the pot with nearly a liter of boiling water, then bringing that water back to a full rolling boil and using it for brewing, AND covering the pot with a cosy during brewing (while placing it atop a hot pad or trivet) and then removing the cosy for service results in tea that is as hot as possible without making the handle too hot to touch (which it will be if you leave the cosy on). So brewed tea stays plenty hot for 45 minutes or more. All in all I think this teapot is well worth its asking price. The few teapots that compete with it for tea quality (Chatsford, a few Bodum models) are nowhere near as durable, well-made or beautiful. It's a keeper.

Hard to remove factory gunk
Took numerous washings to remove all the machining oil from the manufacturing process, (including several dishwasher runs) once removed, the teapot is very useful, and does not drip. Great item for the price. Looks nice enough to pair with good china

Top quality and sleek design
The smaller version that I chose is just right for a personal teatime. It holds about 3 cups . The handle is easy to grip and it pours without dripping. The strainer allows the use of loose tea and is finely meshed. It’s a quality well-made tea pot that should last for a long time . Plus, its sleek design is admirable.Although it is not double walled it does keep the tea a good temperature for a decent amount of time. Using a tea cosy prolongs the optimal tea temperature.

Major Functionality Issues
The product looks aesthetically pleasing, but functionality is a bit different:- The lip is sharp!!!!! It cuts your hand as your try to clean inside. If you are using a bottle brush—-the sharp lip wins all the time because it ends up shaving off part of the plastic brush handle. The sponges don’t stand a chance either.- The basket does not allow for proper steeping. To mitigate this, you can take off the basket and place the tea leaves directly in the pot. However, as you try to drain and remove the used leaves, the poor lip design curves inward and it prevents complete removal of the tea leaves. It gets stuck in there.- The bottom and the body in the interior is not one piece... it is separate and the two pieces are not sealed tight properly... causing residue to remain. It does not dry properly and a dark film develops—-take a paper towel and run it between the gap, you will see it. You can also see the welding in the gap if you look closely enough.- The handle itself stays cool, however, the 1 inch piece that connects the handle to the pot gets HOT! Be careful, but most of the time it is unavoidable to touch and you have to endure it while you pour out your hot tea.It is now a decorative piece in the kitchen... I have purchased a glass tea pot to use instead.I had high hopes for this product, but it fell short of expectations. The company was very fast in delivery, though. So that’s a positive.Other than that, I would recommend researching other tea pots to purchase.
