Simple install.
Simple in and out replacement. Now I can go grocery shopping and replace what was lost. Works perfectly. No need to buy a new fridge!

Got it running again
My 21 year old Hotpoint refrigerator quit defrosting, froze up solid and quit cooling. Discovered the defrost timer was defunct. It was a 35 minute every 12 hour timer. The WR9X483 is a 30 minute timer every 10 hours, but since I live in Spain it is running on 50 cycle voltage. Since the cycles are slower the timer runs longer, and just happens to run 35 minutes every 12 hours. Perfect. The timer is compact, requires no ground wire, and it's contacts are fully compatible with the defrost heaters and compressor motor. An excellent replacement part.

Saved a bunch of money.
Figured out my problem through a YouTube video. Purchased part on Amazon. Replacement of timer very simple and works great . Much cheaper than calling repair guy.

Fantastic Replacement
I am so happy GE still makes this kind of timer! This is the first time I’ve had to replace a part from my 27 year old work horse of a fridge. This fridge is older than I am and it will die after me as long as GE keeps making compatible replacements.
