Super Quiet
Came with everything you needed including the hardware. Instruction were good. You could access help videos if needed but I did not have a need to use them. The door itself is super quiet in both directions, and what a surprise compare to the old one, Wow! The control buttons work good and you really need instructions for the set up. Not that it is hard its just a process. For example, instead of hard stops on the tract to control how far you raise or lower the door its all done with the controls on the unit. Again its not hard just a process that the instruction steps take you threw.

Basic model, but does 100% of what's needed
Had 2 Craftsman openers that were 22 years old, when one failed (gear shaft bearing broke). Decided to replace both, and could not be happier with choice of Genie models. Previous units were 1/2 HP, and new units are also 1/2 HP. More than enough oomph to lift single, 80 lbs doors each. When deciding between belt drive and chain drive, you need to also take into account noise sources from doors, tracks and rollers. If these are noisy, paying more for the quiet belt option is wasting money. These chain drive units are exceptionally quieter than the older chain models, that I don't know how much quieter they could get with belts. Installation was a breeze. Instructions exactly depicted steps involved in installing. Was able to reuse the ceiling mounting brackets and down-braces, although these units were shorter and narrower than Craftsman units, so the down-braces are slightly canted in and forward. Units do not come with outdoor keypads, which is a good thing (not needed). Installed MyQ sensors and app on cell phone to control from outside when necessary. Syncing sensors to openers was a breeze. Only anomaly during installation was that one of the obstruction sensors mounted near the floor kept flashing red, but after everything was finished, it corrected itself and works fine now. Was able to reuse the door mounting bracket and L-bar that hooks the trolley to the door, saving a little effort during install. Be careful when setting up and down travel limits; it is possible to drive the trolley into the opener when setting up limit (i.e. going for max opening height). All in all, clearly a 5 star winner.

Great low budget unit Very easy to install with easy to follow directions..
If you have light weight door and don't want all the bells and whistles, then this is a great unit. I believe you can still tap into the back connectors if you want to control by phone if you like as well. I completed install by myself in about 3 hours which included taking down the previous unit.I did use the previous wires that ran from the door switch and the bottom sensors. So, if you had to run those I would add another hour. Setting the up down limits is different than older models but easy IF you follow directions.

Exceptionally quiet and reasonably easy to install
My 25 year old double car garage opener developed a unique problem: remote transmitters would not work anytime the opener light was on. Weird! Control boards or other parts for the unit were not available, so a replacement was necessary. After significant research, balancing price, quality and features we landed on the Genie unit. Also since my shop openers were Genie, I had some first hand experience. Eight foot doors need the extension. And you'll want to buy additional remotes, only one is included. The unit assembled easy and was able to fit into the existing installation with little modification. I would say for the average DIY'r it would be a fun afternoon. The really frustrating part was reprogramming all the in-car remotes without losing the other doors already programmed.

Doesn't work
The opener does not work. There no power when the unit is plugged in. I will say it was easy to install. And I should have tested it before going through all installation. To be fair to Genie I bought it through a company "Price Right Products". Genie declined any support since it was not bought through them, and the vendor has failed to respond to replace the defective product. Let that be a warning to all; to go through Genie, not through disreputable 3rd parties. I will say that in the 23 years I've used Amazon this the first time I've had a problem.
