Just Incredible--The Popcorn Maker Of Your Dreams. Just Buy This!!
This popcorn maker is amazing!! My other ones, in the past, were such an absolutely ridiculous pain to clean--and you could not immerse them to wash them, and you could never get all of the oil and glitch off of them. I would dread cleaning them--so, after making popcorn, they would sit on the counter for over a week sometimes. And I would balk when anyone would want popcorn--like, "Oh no!! Then I will have to clean the thing..." Well, NOT ANY MORE!! This things is so wonderful. You unclip the cooking surface part and put it in the dishwasher--and all of the other parts used are dishwasher safe. It makes absolutely incredible popcorn--and the popcorn doesn't burn as easily as the other poppers and all of the kernels pop (it kind of moves back and forth). I don't like air poppers--or the taste of air-popped popcorn--so this is just perfect. I use a little olive oil--you don't need to use much at all--and I buy lots of different seasonings (by the way, just the recipes that Cuisinart includes are worth the cost of the unit). I bought another one in case this one ever breaks--but the first one is going strong even though it gets used all of the time. All of the Cuisinart products are extremely wonderful--every one that I have bought (I love my toaster and my coffee maker, too!! And I have others). I must sound like I am someone who works for Cuisinart/being paid--or like I am a "Stepford Wife"--however, I am neither. I am merely overworked and want easy-to-use, high-quality, long-lasting appliances. In a world full of junky things which don't last very long, Cuisinart products (at least at this time in history) are like unicorns. Don't even look at any other brands--buy this!! Keep Cuisinart in business forever!! P.S.--I noticed a complaint about the release clips--I don't notice this being an issue at all. Perhaps the people with this issue got a defective one or did not know how to unclip and clip it--you do have to line it up just so. But that is a small price to pay for such wonderfulness!! Thank you, Cuisinart--truly.

Great popcorn popper!
Love this popcorn popper. It does a great job and the popcorn comes out great. We bought it because our daughter got one and we really liked hers.

Major design flaw but otherwise well built.
Good: quality LOOKS top notch. Rugged. Clever design. Feels sturdy.Bad: the very thing that partially makes it look sturdy is its downfall. The plastic used for the bowl is very brittle. Almost immediately micro cracks started showing up. It’s like heat cracks or stress fractures. Finally I have a huge crack that goes all the way through it. It’s technically broken. I may just use some tape or do plastic welding on it but it’s ridiculous to pay a premium for quality and have to fail so quickly. The things that look like a lot of scratches in the pictures are actually internal cracks or fissures in the plastic. It’s not scratches and it’s not dirty (well, I wiped it clean for the pics but those are fissures)Used maybe 10-15 times. Also, unlike the wider cheaper versions, this doesn’t stack in itself for storage so it takes up a lot of room. You could store the bag of kernels and seasoning in the top so it’s not a total waste, but it’s not stack friendly.Going to reach out to support since it’s just 6 months old but it’s a design flaw in the type of plastic they used apparently, not a one off bad item.I want to love it, but this is a major flaw. Had a stir crazy for many years until I wore it out. Got a stir crazy 2.0 with a newer design that was so bad I returned it. This makes good popcorn and is well designed otherwise than the critical breaking bowl part.Edit: moved from 3 to 4 stars for exceptional customer support. Rapid response. Sending new kid.

healthy snack
Yes, this is the best way to get a light healthy snack anytime, but especially at bedtime. Don't use olive oil - I just learned that from reading the enclosed manual, so I use avocado oil. Please be careful the first time using and you go to flip the bucket of popcorn onto the red top... make sure you have gripped the two bucket handles and the hot plate handles together - hot plate is hot ! Please practice on cold device BEFORE your first pop. Don't forget to remove red top before popping or it prevents the steam from rising. Amazing how much steam comes off - the water in each kernel gets super-heated and explodes - it gets noisy. The value in this product: quality construction & functional design that produces crunchy popcorn in 7-8 minutes; there are only a few unpopped kernels in the bottom.I get a big of container of popcorn from Costco. Salt on top works its way thru the tub as consumed and the oil - Or parmesan cheese, or Brewer's Yeast. It's and inexpensive way to get a healthy snack without the preservatives, hardened oils, sugar, and heavy salt of commercial chips and snacks.

Brittle and burns your popcorn.
This is a very expensive popcorn popper so i had high expectations. The long narrow design is great for fitting into the dish washer. However, when i used this instead of the classic style of oil popper being much wider… my popcorn burned much easier so it was hard to get it just right. But this machine gets 1 star because i was trying to fit it onto my shelf but i forgot it was too tall… so i had to put it on the very top. I lost control of the lid however, and i fumbled the machine as it fell… it probably had a little over a foot of falling before it hit the carpet and the whole body is made of very brittle cheap plastic because the plastic casing for the base totally shattered along with the popping plate. All the little plastic bits that lock the plate the base and make the machine functional broke VERY EASILY. I suspected anything like this you needed to be careful… and dropping it one foot onto carpet may ding it a bit sure… i did not expect it to explode into dozen of shards of plastic making it completely unusable. Even if it was tough and made of steel i still would have criticized the performance on account of the small plate burning your popcorn before the other kernels can pop. Dont buy this piece of junk. Waste of money. Stick with the cheaper ones.
