Monastery Kvas Bread Drink Original 67.6fl oz pack 3

Love it, I am an international student and I was trying to find bottled Kvas in the US since 2015, but there were no online sellers of Kvas during that time. I'm glad after all these years I can finally buy Kvas at an ok price with Amazon shipping.

Three 2 liter bottles came in one box, that box being put into an Amazon box... All were intact and fresh through 9-2-25 (US date)... This Kvass is good, blin!

Tastes like a mild fermented coke with a bread like taste. Took a star off because the bottles arrived very dirty.

I like this exactly brand of kvass-fermented-drink made from rye. By the way I like all other brands of that drink too. It doesn't contain any alcohol, so I'm kvass-o'-holic, at least for last 25 years.

For anyone who has never tasted original true kvass, this may be ok. But it is truly horrendous, it tastes like a syrup beverage with a hint of actual kvass. It gives real kvass a bad name. I am Slavic and I grew up with this stuff. It’s gross. My advice stay away, make your own, or find someone who makes their own. Otherwise this is the only abomination that will give you an idea of what kvass actually is. I can’t stress this enough.

I was introduced to kvass by a Ukrainian student at my school so I was delighted to find that I could actually buy as much as I wanted (albeit rather expensively due to it being an import) via Amazon.It's basically a soft drink derived from an ancient slavic small beer. It tastes a lot like soda but it's much better than any soda you are likely to have tasted. You owe it to yourself to try kvass at least once.P.S.If you see any "KBACC" at a Russian or Ukrainian supermarket, that's this stuff with the name written in their own alphabet.

The closest I can get to describing the flavor is raisins, but it has much more going on than that. Overall the biggest problem is it is far too sweet. It is most tolerable when drunk warm as that dissipates some of the excessive sweetness.

Better than any soft drink I have ever tasted.Better than any (except maybe for Dopplebock) beer I have tasted.Has the taste of rye bread, but the fermentation gives it a bit of a fruity aftertaste.From now on, there will ALWAYS be some kvass in my house!Some online Russian Stores sell it for less, but you have to pay shipping, .which brings it to the same price.The SHIPPING is the joker! If you only want to buy 3 or 4 bottles, you are better off buying it here.You hit the break even point at 5 or 6 bottle purchases (depending on which Russian Market you buy it from.)
