Worth it (doesn't accept eneloop rechargeable batteries)
NOTE: I have tried The low power Eneloop "lite" rechargeable batteries, the white and black ones too, and none of them work. So the only batteries that can be used to power this, are non-rechargeable batteries. For example, "Energizer AAA Alkaline Power" can be used once the supplied batteries run dry.I recently bought Energizer AAA batteries to test, so i can confirm they work perfectly. Shame, because rechargeable batteries are obviously the better solution.Review:I got this for my grandmother, but now I'm thinking of getting myself one! (I seen them going £11 cheaper on the high street so I'll pick one up)UPDATE: bought another one from here on Amazon since they were on sale. Good bit of kit.My grandmother is very happy with it now that she no longer has to stand on her tip toes to look through the spyhole.Sadly I'm now on the hook to patch up her council house door, as i had to cut away the rubbish plastic detailing around the two slot windows on either side in order to fit it flush enough that i could fix it onto the awkwardly placed screw hole. The picture quality is probably like the 3MP cameras you'd have got on phones back in the early 2000's, it's not too bad for the close ups like this thing will be focused for, and the picture is actually decent to the point if the police ever have to get pictures off it they'd be happy with the resolution.I haven't tried adding an SD card yet so i can't comment about that function, or how pictures are formatted, and whether they can be read on a Windows PC or not. Although I'm sure that Yale have thought all about those sorts of things, and everything will be fine, at least i hope so anyway. One thing i did notice, is that you may need to fashion some kind of sun hood for this, because it can blur out (white out?) faces sometimes. My advice to make one, is get yourself a sanding drum a little bigger than the camera housing and sand down a spare bit of wood and use super strong glue to attach it. At least, that's what i have in mind for making a sun hood. I'll take a picture and upload it here when i get around to doing it.

Good, but UI is pretty bad and probably implemented by the OEM factory -- so it's nearly indecipherable. Only accepts microSD and it's not exactly clear how to get it that to work. The microSD latch actually damaged the plastic on one of my cards. That aside it works fine as a door viewer. Installation is pretty easy and the instructions make sense, though I wouldn't use the included double sided tape.

Not bad, but not great either.
This digital doorbell is ok. Starts to act weird when the battery is running low. However once the battery is removed the images from the internal memory gets deleted. The only way to avoid this is by installing a microSD card. So thats an addtional cost that you should be aware of.

Cheap and flaky, doesn't save, loud and now broken
Device is small and easy to fix with no tools needed. From day one the doorbell was obnoxiously loud and harsh sounding, repeats several times for ages after the person has left. The UI is clucky, with button presses not working every time, and often have to wait a few seconds before being able to press anything else.Quality was ok (think mobile phone pics in the mid 00's), none of the content seems to have been saved to the SD card though. No controls on how long it rings, how long it stays awake, so you have to work the way it wants to.Today however we noticed the screen has cracked thus no longer works (likely from the force of closing the door (it's a firedoor, so needs quite a push). It's been 2.5 years so not bad life, but looking back, it was a waste of money and wouldn't recommend.

good product
great product especially for the elderly. easy to fit and gives a good picture. I made the error that I assumed that it was a transmitter/receiver based unit, whereas this has a connecting flexi cable from the camera to the back of the screen so it has to fit behind the door viewer.

First class product.
A really excellent little digital door entry camera - the viewer memory is extremely clever and very helpful. All round a really first class product

You have been warned!
At first I read others reviews and thought hmmm I should be okay with this. Thinking it’s from Yale a well known brand the door viewer should be up to standard? Nope! The product is easy to install and set up. The casing is flimsy cheap plastic not a Yale standard by miles. The product worked well for about 2 weeks, after which point the screen would flash and wouldn’t turn off, so I changed the batteries. That solved the problem initially but the this screen has a mind of its own. If I want to check the screen it sometimes works perfectly and sometimes it works then doesn’t respond forcing me to remove the batteries and reset it again. I have kept it for now as I didn’t any time to return this during the Christmas break. But I will be looking out for a new one not from Yale. I’m very disappointed with this from Yale as most of my locking devices are Yale.
