Apologies for the length of this review.This is my second Purple Leaf Umbrella (10ft square Patio Cantilever Windproof Offset and Heavy Duty). The first is still in service (different size and model).It arrived in a very timely fashion and there was no damage in transport. Setup was straightforward and I only needed my wifes help for about 5 minutes to align and lift the main structural support and canopy. The design is very good and the manufacturing of that design is solid and precise.I also got the PURPLE LEAF Offset Patio Umbrella Base with Wheels, Sand/Water Filled Square for the added weight/stability and mobility. I filled the base with 200 lbs of sand and had two additional external sandbags filled with an additional 40lb each. The base itself is about 65lbs. For a total of 345 lbs.The rest of the story….. on the second day it was deployed, dead calm, I was working in its shade…. 6 feet away from the base. A slight puff of wind and I turned to check on it. Perfectly stable. Turn back to my tasks and a second larger “puff” (I guestimate not more than 15-20 mph - welcome to the mountains ) and by the time I turned around to check, it had blown over and landed on the deck handrails. The damage to the umbrella was two 6 inch tears in two panels.To be fair, this is a second level of a two level deck structure and it is not as protected from winds and the 1 first level, however, I have not had a problem like this in the past.Contacted customer service ([email protected]) and had my initial reply within 24 hours. Alex was my contact from start to finish. He asked for more details and a couple of pictures. The next day he confirmed that they would replace fabric and it would be sent immediately. From first contact till the new fabric arrived was one week.Recommended actions were to fill the 4 base water tanks with an antifreeze/water mixture (3/7 ratio). This action alone would increase the base weight by 150lbs, bringing the entire base weight with the two extra sand bags to just shy of 500lbs. That should do it.Customer service was polite, responsive and straight forward. This was an excellent customer service experience. Thank you Alex

I have destroyed more patio furniture than I can even remember - especially umbrellas. This is best-constructed (and best engineered) umbrella I've ever had, and holds up pretty well. That alone makes it a recommendation - but I'm giving 5 stars mostly because of the customer support.I had a rip in my canopy (it was actually my fault, but sssshh - they've already given me a replacement, so I think I'm in the clear), and I reached out to their service team to see how to buy replacement fabric cover. They asked me a couple of questions, then FedExed me a new one - nice, but other companies have done that for me before.What was crazy was that I always had a reply in less than 6 hours - they sent me a video of how to replace it, then followed up a week later with the FedEx photo of the delivery on my porch to make sure I'd replaced it and see how it went. I realized I had a bolt missing (I forgot to assemble it properly years ago), and they responded almost immediately with the exact size and thread spacing on the bolt, which cost me $1.I've written maybe 5 reviews - ever - but the team at Purple has been so helpful (and even without obvious customer service AI) and written me so many emails that I felt I had to bite the bullet and actually write an Amazon review.Hope it helps - and for what it's worth, the aluminum table (powder coated to look like wood) has stood up to my 6 kids for years, and still looks brand new every time I power wash it. Wish purple made more furniture, it's rock solid.

We have a small 12 x 15 deck and no trees so never got much use out of it because it was always baking in the sun. We replaced the old deck with composite decking last year and now I want to use it. Purple leaf has such great reviews and competitive prices. It was an easy choice for me. It wasn’t hard to put together, although for me, the instructions could’ve been clearer. The instructions were only pictures and I like words with my pictures. Thankfully, my husband knew what they meant. The material seems starting, and the aluminum is heavy gauge. I believe it will last a long time. I used the metal base plate and attached it directly to our deck with extra support lumber directly under the deck for stability and strength. I had questions for Customer Service because i wanted to get the order right and they were excellent, as others have also reported. Questions were answered within the time frame promised and I received follow up emails checking to see if everything is works as expected.The umbrella moves slightly in the breeze but is very stable. I will probably not be testing the waterproofing though because it will not be left open when not in use and I bought a uv protection, waterproof umbrella cover to extend the life of the fabric. I enjoy sitting on my deck sofa looking at the mountains in the distance. Well done Purple Leaf!
