Ganaches, use Heavy Cream and produce a more velvety texture and by using a 75% ratio of chocolate to 25% cream, the product firms up enough to not fall off the graham or cookie of your choice. You can also melt chocolate on low heat and then simply smear the chocolate on one part of the cookie, add your toppings and you are now pre-making S’mores! When guests arrive, half the work is completed. I also find this controls messes. Nuts, coconut shavings and so forth can get sloppy when you are building the Ultimate S’mores sandwich. This way of building S’mores makes sure the tables and floors do not suffer from runaway toppings!The Sterno S’mores Maker heats evenly no matter the size of marshmallow. Hey, I was worried the Giant ones (found at Aldi’s) would not heat up and melt in the center, they did and with ease. The normal size ones that look like miniatures compared to the gigantic ones, those I purchased at Trader Joe’s.Verdict:I was super excited and started purchasing ingredients before the maker even arrived. Then it arrived!! It was beautiful and easy to assemble, meaning none was needed. The red portion (holder) is dishwasher safe and because you can by the cans again and again, this means having a S’mores party is endless. We will be trying more creations in the future and I can’t wait. This is a must buy and at $35.16 currently at Amazon, it’s perfect for 4th of July or really anytime. Make your own fun and creations. The refill fuel cans retail for $6.99 and that is for two cans! Each can lasts for about 45 minutes. I am extremely happy with this product. Easy set up, easy cleanup. It comes with the smores maker, a can of fuel (45 minute burn time) , two smores sticks and a protective scree that covers the burning fuel. This is a great alternative to a bonfire for roasting marshmallows. The fuel is safe to use indoors or out so if you want a smore in the dead of winter you can make one. Make sure you only use the smores heat fuel with this product, other fuels are not appropriate for the plastic maker. It has places to put graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows to have ready for your next smore and two smores making stations. You can put a graham cracker down with a piece of chocolate and when your marshmallow is roasted to perfection you simply grab another graham cracker and use it to pull your marshmallow off the stick to complete your snack. The simple design works well and is pretty straightforward to use. I highly recommend this product.I received this product free through Tryazon in exchange for a review. I was given the opportunity to obtain a free Sterno Family Fun S'mores Maker from Sterno and Tryazon. As agreed I hosted a party at my house and demonstrated the S'mores maker. I invited a lot of family and friends over and set the product up. It was so easy to set up. I purchased a lot of S'mores products including the traditional graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate bars. We also purchased a variety of cookies and sprinkles. The kids had so much fun creating different types of S'mores. Prior to using the S'mores maker we had only ever used the traditional products. With so many people it would have been nice to have a couple extra fire pokers to roast the marshmallows on, but we took turns and everyone had a great time. We made S'mores before dinner so maybe that wasn't a great idea! I am sure the kids didn't mind. The nice thing about this product is we did it at the kitchen table. We didn't have to worry about bugs and smoke from the fire. The next day I tried to roast a marshmallow on my stove as that was a common comment from guests. I have an electric stove so that didn't work out at all. I tried cooking one using a lighter inside but although it burned the marshmallow, it didn't cook it through and so it wasn't near as good as they were using the Sterno S'mores family fun Maker. I also made S'mores over a fire last night at a friends house and her little girl got so close to the fire she almost got burnt. The day of my party I didn't think about that as a possibility, but the Sterno Family S'mores maker makes that much less likely. I would definitely recommend this product to families with children.
