MPM-1000U | Large Diaphragm USB Condenser Microphone for Podcasting & Recording, Including USB Cable & Mic Clip, Black

So I bought this to use with my phone for recording. Specifically for Smule. It works perfectly for that, it sounds much more professional than a headset mic. Only downside to it is it is very sensitive, at least with my phone. I have to be at least an arm's length or more away or else it peaks out, but that could be my phone more than the mic, and when it's in that "sweet spot" it does sound crystal clear, the lows aren't overpowering, and it is definitely much more professional. It comes with an adapter to hook on to a mic stand, a cord with a USB-A male end to plug into your computer, and the mic itself. It does not include a pop filter. For the price you'd be hard pressed to find a similar quality, it's not a high end Shure or anything but it definitely punches a little bit above it's weight at the price it's at.

Picks up voice from a few feet away surprisingly well. setup was a little slow as the mic levels were low initially, am not sure why. But it ended up working fine.Also for those wondering, I was trying to figure out why the provided screw mount didn’t fit the generic mic stand I bought, with the stand screw end being too big for the mount threads. It took me a little bit too long to figure out that the mount ships with a metal adapter already installed. I think the metal adapter is for smaller screw mounts, whereas after removing it, the black mount plastic fit the generic mount. I’m not precisely sure but I think the larger size is 5/8”.I was also slightly surprised to see a degaussing device on the provided USB cable, which seems like a good design.Overall the mic seems like a good choice so far

I like it, it's pretty good. The USB connection is a great way to get a decent microphone without having to pony up the cash for an XLR setup. I also don't do any audio mixing or balancing for my YouTubes, and it sounds pretty good as it is. MUCH better than the $19.99 mics that don't pickup anything besides midrange.I'd love if it had an LED to show it's powered up, maybe a two-tone LED to show it's on and/or muted?I bought a USB cable that has an on/off switch but the switch itself is near the PC side (not the mic side) so it's helpful but not perfect. Not blaming the mic for the location of a switch on a cheap USB cable but a switch on the mic itself would be best.It'd be nice if it had a USB-C connector, which is nearly ten years old at this point, but they decided to go with a USB-B connector from the 90's, and that's a shame. There's a lot more options & flexibility with the newer connections these days.I bought a universal shock mount that's sized for 47-51 mm diameter mics, but it turns out this mic is just a bit smaller than 44 mm (didn't know until I put them together). I wrapped a bit of bubble wrap around the mic (what I had next to me), jammed it in the mount, and it's doing a decent job of staying put.Lastly, and this isn't a big deal; my mic is black, not navy blue as listed in the description.

OK, so I am a long time emcee (Hip-Hop artist named Rezivor), and music producer with drum machines etc..For many years now I have been recording with my $450.00 Sennheiser mic. But wanted to try and get a mic that can record my vocals with even less "air"/ "white noise" "fuzzy" sound in the background. My small studio has sound proofing up, a pop filter, a sound shield etc..but STILL, I had some of that sound in the background. I recently purchased this mic and a Kaotica Eyeball (recommended highly!). I have just received this mic in the mail today. And have hooked it up..put the Kaotica Eyeball over it. Just tested it out and I have to say, I am REALLY amazed!!! The mic at first didhave some of that sound I mentioned. But it seemed to be less of it. So I went into my CPU settingings and just adjusted a few of the settings real quick and easily. Then recorded with the levels adjusted. Now it sounds perfect!!! Don't let the price scare you or make you hesitate to get this. It is easily well worth the purchase! Now I will say that it doesn't hook up to older computers (my main/dedicated recording CPU is from 2004, lol). It is too new to be recognized by older drivers. But my 2014 laptop it went on easy and insantly was working. Just set it as your default recording mic.

Perfect for podcasting and even for recording if you are a voice-over actor.

Right out of the box it did not work. Swapped out the wire and tested on multiple devices. This thing is a dud. Plenty of options out there, this should not be one of them. Zero stars.

usb 2.0 type b? strange.. read about upward channels on monitors being from a usb type b - makes me wonder

I was recommended this microphone as a great replacement for a cheap old usb desktop mic I have. My requirements was a decent mic that only picks up what is in 'front' of it, and not all the sounds coming from behind or from the 5.1 speaker system I use (the way my speakers are situated, this should be possible with the right mic).Welp, I was mislead. This microphone picks up EVERYTHING, in ANY DIRECTION. So much so, it was picking up chirping crickets coming from 2 feet behind (the center speaker). Something even my old desktop mic would not pick up.What it appears is this mic needs to be put on a boom arm, placed right in your face with a spit guard, and then you have to adjust the gain down to almost nothing, add filters and noise gates, and noise suppression. Just to clear out all its picking up. Definitely not a gamer friendly setup. And definitely not something you can do in various games that have voice chat built in (and you can barely even do it in discord). Works for OBS though.So, if you are looking for a clean quality mic pickup to use strictly for making recordings without anything going on in the room ... this mic is very good for that use.However if you are looking to actually play games and have great voice pickup and chat when you have a speaker system, naw. Skip this.
