This model is used outside of the sharpening stone. The stand can be put in a convinient position on a table near sharpening stone. A steady hand is required to keep blade at the proper angle. Practicing and skills are required. Angle guide doesn't move with the stone. Use muscle memory to keep a knife at a consistent angle. The set is used as an angle reference tool. Don't place the tool on the stone. Place the tool outside of the sharpening stone on a table near sharpening stone. Patented.

EXCELLENT. better than I had expected AND as good as I hoped.
The pieces are very well made. Very accurate and tidy mouldings. I’m impressed with the quality of manufacturing AND by the design. The materials used are, clearly, well chosen. Hard and shiny with low friction where it’s needed and grippy non slip where that’s appropriate. Lovely.The SETS (because you do indeed receive TWO sets) are BETTER than the listing seems to suggest. EACH SET contains FIVE different angle wedges (and I mean angle wedges as I’m not referring to the adapter thing which permits two wedges to be combined) rather than the four shown in the pic. With these five wedges one can obtain ALL the angles stated. GREAT! The only criticism I could have made would be of the listing which I think undersells the product.
