VERY Bright, Nice Case, Doesn't Overheat, but BE CAREFUL
The media could not be loaded. ↓ Pro Tips at the bottom ↓First off, this is a bright boy. At 100% it's AS BRIGHT as my two brightest panels combined, and it has a much better spread. It has an aluminum body with vents on the top and bottom, and all the controls are on the back. It's really really simple all things considered, if you've used any other GVM lights you don't need the instructions, and honestly if you're like under 30 you also probably don't need them, it's literally two buttons and a dial. I keep mine set to like 5000K-5500K, it's a nice warm white tone that gives me great color and fantastic brightness because both the warm and cool LEDs are engaged near their max brightness.I'm not personally a fan of the new stand type - I understand the appeal of the stands that turn inside-out to collapse, but it's not my cup of tea. To be clear the stand is fine, I just use my own instead. I have an old Interfit stand with a four-foot wide base, it's impossible to knock it over - that's important on my sets because I work with amateurs and bands a lot and not everyone is... careful...Anyway, I have literally no complaints about the capabilities of the light, it's absolutely sick. I need to pick up two more of these ASAP, I could set them up across the room from my YouTube set and be lit without getting sweaty.PRO TIPS:1. It sounds obvious, but if you put the big softbox on the front, it makes it WAY less steady, it's super easy to knock it over if you don't line up the light with one of the feet of the lightstand. I personally use a muuuch wider lightstand that I already have, but if you don't have that option consider getting a sandbag or something similar.2. The power brick isn't HEAVY, but it's not especially light - it's enough to "pull" on the light if you don't secure it. I tied a little loop/knot in the thin part of the cord and I hang that on one of the knobs of the light stand, that way when I raise/lower the stand the power brick never pulls down on the light. The "thick" part of the cord is plenty long to reach an extension cord or wall outlet.3. VERY IMPORTANT - the lamp angle is adjustable (duh), but there's knobs on both sides of the lamp and the little pivot points have TEETH so it cannot be adjusted if the knobs are tightened. If one knob is tight and the other is loose, it won't move, and you'll probably break it if you forget that. But, it's beneficial in a way because you can leave one loose while you're setting up and then it's easy to quickly adjust your light angle, but then you can tighten both so it doesn't move at all once you've found the perfect angle. But yeah, great light, 10/10 intend to definitely buy again! Good luck out there!

What you need for outdoor productions.
GVM is my source for studio lighting. This 300W light kit is another example of the high quality products from that company. I already have a 200W version of this. But, found that whenever I'm doing an outside project on a sunny day, I need two lights to help get rid of shadows on my subjects. So, I bought this 300W version.I have two nit pics about the kit. 1) It comes in three separate packages. It would be nice to have one carrying bag that contained them all. For me, because I don't do 'on location' shots, it's not that big of a deal. I set it up in my space here at home, wherever I'm shooting video and don't have to lug it from site to site. But, for those videographers that need mobility, it's kind of a drag. 2) Assembly is time consuming. Putting the soft box together takes some time and effort. Thankfully, I only had to do it once. But, again, if you're going from site to site, you either take 20-30 minutes to assemble the soft box or just leave it assembled, which takes up space in your vehicle. I have found that, unassembled, I am able to cram everything into the main bag. it takes a little logical thinking and rearranging. But, I can make it happen. Now, for the benefits. The kit itself is very well engineered and constructed. Quality materials and components. The stand is strong and extends to about 8 feet high. The cords and power supply are well made and durable. There is a carrying strap that doubles as a mounting strap for the power supply. The lamp is powerful, well ventilated and sturdy. The lamp can be adjusted with either the onboard controls or an app. The app is useful when controlling more than one lamp. In one of my pics, you can see how well it lights my living room. It is fully illuminated with practically no shadows. This is excellent.I really like this light. It's a great addition to my lighting arsenal. I will be using it for lighting my outdoor videos, any time it's possible.

Does its job!
I like the light that it gives, just wish the case were a little larger for the mount that the light is mounted too. Also, a way to carry the included light stand would have been a nice feature. It slips out of the straps if you try to carry it above the case. A shoulder strap on the modifier bag would be fantastic as well. I'm using mother lantern modifier along with this light for that reason alone. I keep this one as a backup or if I need a second modifier for other shoots.

Lamp switches off after some minutes. Didn't see that obviously, no warranty, lost $500.
Lamp arrived. I installed it and it seemed to 'work'. Did not use it until 2 months after it arrived and when i switched it on for a bit longer (i.e. couple minutes), it automatically turns off and then i need to unplug electricity... Completely useless. There are no instructions on how to use it, there's zero customer support.Lost $500. VERY BAD FROM GVM!
