Q: 10 eyelet/grommet woman's shoe, not high-tops. What size? They are about to break so I don't want to remove to measure.

You can still measure the lace eyelet-eye-let.

Q: Is 5/16" wide the regular width? mine measure 1/4", unless they shrank. i have new balance m990 gl3. would these be too wide?

They are very soft and flex. Seem to look a tad wider than standard you have . The leases I replaced are about 5/16 so I really can’t be sure about your laces. I just removed some white laces from a pair of new balance that I’m getting rid of to the trash and wash them and they are definitely thicker and narrower than the new ones I got. Hope this is helpful I’m sorry if it isn’t.
