Works great!
This works really well. You can only fill it about half full otherwise you can't get it to shut, but the chickens love it and it keeps them occupied. It comes apart easy if you throw it on the ground so after you fill it you have to place it gently down. But the chickens don't get it apart when they are pushing it around so it is okay. It doesn't last very long with nine chickens but I am going to get another so I can put two in at once. I use mealworms in mine.

Durable
This is a great treat dispenser! It is easy to fill either hold in one hand and pour or open and scoop. I have only tried black soldier fly larva in it but I'd like to try cracked corn or scratch grains. But it works fantastic! This thing has been outside in the snow, hail, lightning rain storms, and high heat temps. It's really done well with the weather. I only have 2 hens but I have 8 chicks that are 12weeks old so I may have to buy more! Definitely worth it, love the price. If you have a coop this is something you needEdit: got another! The chicks are now about to lay age, and this is their favorite toy, they get this ball filled with black solider fly lavae and meal worms, it took them a second to learn it at first but I just nugded it with my foot and some came out and now they peck at it themselves. I got another because it would be 1 ball per 4 chickens. I still recommend these over 3m later

This item is amazing. Our chickens love it. Chickens figured out how to use it fairly quickly and keeps them entertained. I would definitely recommend this product.

Chickens were too smart for this toy
Chickens loved this toy and it kept them entertained longer than just throwing treats on the floor of the pen. I used all kinds of different seeds as well as mealworms and the toy dispensed everything. The trouble is, the chickens figured out that if they peck the seam, the whole thing splits open like a pinata and they can have all the treats at once. There is a rubber band on the inside that holds the two ends together (it's like a plastic Easter egg) but it needs some other kind of lock mechanism. Either a twist on lock or interlocking pieces. If it had a stronger seal, this wouldn't happen.

Excited the hens.
Chickens liked it, hard to fill but they enjoyed it. I even bought another one for the ladies.

DONT BUY unless it's under $1 = what they're worth‼️
Super flimsy & cheap, cheap, cheap‼️ I should've listened to the other honest reviewers😞🙁 Our birds are not even full grown chickens yet and all they have to do is step on it & it pops open; defeating the whole purpose of keeping them busy! I bought two of these POS's so I tried crisscrossing two rubber bands around the exterior of one of them to see if it would remedy the jack-in-the-box reality that they pop open when bumped, stepped in by a 1 pound chicken, or rolled over a pebble, rubber bands didn't do much. For $6-8 each I don't think I should be wasting my time creating solutions to get the unfunctional thin plastic design to work nor do I want my chickens eating rubber band pieces or have to tape these things every time I wanted to use them.🛑💸The plastic construction is barely worth paying a dollar for, at best. For the price we were all suckered into this chicken toy should be WAY more robust‼️ $6-8 should be something more along the lines of the dispensing dog treat toys. 👉🏽🤣 LESSON LEARNED‼️ Guess that's what I get for disregarding the other reviewers and ASSuming they were being critical and negative.

Chicken Entertainment!
The media could not be loaded. It’s like a game and snacks all in one. My hens LOVE this and come running when they see a yellow ball in my hand. The treats come out little by little so they have to peck at it or claw at it for the mealworms to come out the little slit in the ball.
