Hospital staff recommended. 10/ 10 for minor burnsUpdated:every home should have these available- the product line was recommended to me by NHS nurses who treated me for a moderate burn to my thumb (using this product although I'm not entirely sure if it was the same brand if that makes a difference to anyone) I can say since that happened 2 years ago I have kept this product at hand in my kitchen (and near my hair straighteners!) at all times, it's been used by myself and friends and every time it's been applied to even the smallest of burns it has been greatly appreciated by all!Takes the heat out of the burn almost immediately, and from what I was told by the nurses that I had previously seen, it stops the burn penetrating further under the skin.I wouldn't rely solely on this (or any other product) for anything more than a minor burn as I'm not a medical professional- however- I do think it could help tremendously in the interim period between a more severe burn happening and receiving medical treatment, should you choose to go to a hospital.Another point to mention is that my university first aid office does not carry a single product to help deal with any type of burns. (!) I understand that this is the norm in most first aid stations (due to health and safety regulations ironically) so it really helps to carry these individual sachets somewhere in your bag, if the unfortunate situation should occur to you or anyone around you.Thank you burn shield!

I burnt my hand on holiday because I tried to pick up a metal pan by the metal handle that had been over the heat for some time! Idiot!! Anyway, this stuff worked very well and took the pain away for me. It was quite a nasty burn.

Burnshield is fantastic, it's cooling, natural anaesthetic properties are great with cuts and grazes, bites and skin irritations as well as burns.However, I ordered a new pump, delivered quickly and just a day or so later I sustained a minor burn, immediately grabbing my new bottle of Burnshield, the seal still in place, only to find that the spray nozzle was snapped off of the pump stem, broken close to the base, and not a clean break so you can't even remove the broken piece from the nozzle and push it onto the shorter section, there just isn't enough height left.I reported this to Amazon and was amazed by the ease of reporting the fault and how quickly a replacement was sent out. Unfortunately though, having just opened the new bottle, it too has a snapped off nozzle, 2 for 2 with almost identical breaks, too low down the stem to make any use of the pump action; the only way to use the Burnshield is to unscrew the lid completely and use the pump syphon tube to smear the Burnshield wherever it is needed. I can only assume that this is a manufacturing/quality fault. Both bottles are from lot 5302

Scalded the whole my foot and really horrible 2nd degree burns all over it. The massive blister that covered most of the top of my foot burst not even 24h later, leaving a big portion of raw flesh exposed, weeping and extremely painful. Extremely painful 😣 didn’t want to go to A&E só been trying to heal and keep the wound from infection with all I can and this gel is amazing! Keeps the area cool which massively helps with the pain, seems to be doing a great job at keeping the wounds free from infection and also keeps it moist which helps with the healing process . Using it together with gel burn plasters, cleaning it gently with cold water and Castile soap, changing the dressing at least once daily and already noticing a big improvement after 48h of using this gel. BTW , by big improvement I no longer scream when I try to walk and it definitely shows healing progress. Alternative would be most probably facing hours on end in hospital, possible skin grafts (which are still a possible outcome depending on healing) and even more inconvenience than already done. Avoiding hospital visit due to chronically ill health and mobility issues. Regardless, for any nasty burns , wholeheartedly recommend this product!

After a massive idiot move with hot soup and a blender leading to a bad scalding burn to my face, I needed a product for soothing a burn on my forehead - this has helped a lot so I definitely recommend it! It instantly cools the area and seems to have helped my skin start the healing process within a couple of days and pain has reduced significantly.Seriously people - don't blend soup immediately after you've been cooking it in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes.. the blender lid doesn't like to stay on and even when you're holding it down with a tea towel and your elbow - it want's to attack you in the face! Not a good look for the start of 2017! :-(

This is a product I have used before and it is very good/useful to have at hand especially in the kitchen. It really does take the sting out of the singes you can get whilst cooking. My only gripe is that the nozzle was broken off, at some point either with the manufacturer or in transit, but since I still have some left in old bottle I can change over the nozzle from old bottle to new when needed as they are exactly the same dimensions. But I am still taking off stars for carelessness at some point in the process....as I am sick of carelessness!!
