Bought as gift. Was well received as not a common franchise to get these types of things anymore especially from the first solid game. Also prevents the need to go hunting for the CD case when looking for Meryls codec number.

I still vividly remember playing MGS1 when I was very young, on a neighbours old-brothers PS1 in their garden shed / games room - it's an amazing game that will always stay in my mind as a core memory. I just had to pick this up as soon as I saw the familiar CODEC interface, a big nostalgia hit!It comes nicely packaged and presented, perfect for gifting - it's rolled up inside, but it unfolds without any curling which is great.At 30cm height, it fits perfectly on my desk - any larger and it would overlap my monitor arm clamp. The width is great too, and allows me to have both my mouse and keyboard on it.I love the design, and the print quality is great - no pixelation or any sort of print errors, it looks very well made. Nice smooth-ish surface which is prefect for mice to glide over with a tiny bit of resistance.The included coaster is great too, and I have it sitting on top of the mat at the top right corner.Very happy with this, would recommend!

This Metal Gear Solid desk mat is an absolute nostalgia bomb! The codec conversation design is super crisp and looks fantastic on my desk—perfect for fans of the series. It’s a great size and really ties my setup together. The only downside (and why it’s not a full 5 stars) is that it’s not the easiest to clean—dust and spills tend to cling a bit, and wiping it down doesn’t always do the trick. Still, it’s a brilliant piece for any MGS fan who wants to stealthily upgrade their desk space.
