Improves HDD transfer speed noticeably
Works perfectly, feels good, seems to be well made and of sufficiently durable stuff to last without kinking or breaking internally. I bought it because my hard drive was so stinking slow and I thought maybe a USB C would be able to transfer data faster than the old original plain old USB. You can tell I’m a tech guru, o know. Anyway, net result is that it DOES improve transfer rate considerably. Still not as fast as saving files to your built-in hard drive but noticeably faster than it was before. And for less than 10 bucks it’s an easy win. I’d definitely buy this again.

Works great for MacBook!
I’ve been searching for this for a super long time to replace my old version that comes with my Seagate. The old version is a USB-A to Micro-B 3.0 connector. This new Micro-B 3.0 to USB-C cable is awesome. It works great for my 4TB HD Seagate and runs awesome on my Apple MacBook Air 15” (2025).I’ve used UGreen for many years and all their products have worked exceptionally. They’re a brand I truly trust.

Good for Time Machine Backups on Mac
Works Perfectly for Time Machine BackupsI bought this cable to replace an unreliable USB 3.0 hub I was using to connect an external hard drive to my Mac for Time Machine backups. The hub kept disconnecting, which was frustrating—so I finally decided to plug the drive in directly with this cable instead. It worked instantly, no setup needed. Since switching, I’ve had zero issues—just smooth, consistent backups running quietly in the background. Exactly what I needed!

Good cable but probably won’t increase your speed
I’m giving this four out of five stars, because it works fine, however the description (and some reviews) seem to indicate it will make your hard drive faster. While I did not buy it specifically to make it faster, I did test it.I have a Western Digital Elemenrs USB drive, and when connected using the stock USB-A cable, connected to a USB SS labeled port on my laptop, I get read and write scores of around 80 MB/s (using Crystal Disk Mark). When I connect using the stock USB cable to my laptops USB-c/thunderbolt port and a USB-C hub, I get around 80 MB/s, and when I use this cable to that same port, I get the same 80 MB/sPerhaps there are some USB drives that WILL see increased speeds, but I don’t believe that most will, since most of the HDDs using this port are likely USB 2.0 at best.Either way, it works to connect my drive to my Windows laptop, my iPad, and my iPhone.

Great value and well made!
Got this to replace a lost cord for an external hard drive and it’s been working great! Had no issues with it whatsoever! The length is perfect for a hard drive you want near your computer or laptop. For me that’s the easiest so I never worry about it falling off my bed or desk.
