When SCORPION is on the case, saving the world is a no-brainer! Elyes Gabel (Game of Thrones) stars as Walter, the eccentric leader of a team of brilliant misfits a psychiatrist with a gambling addition, a mechanical prodigy with anger issues, and a 'human calculator' with social anxiety who save the world from problems only a genius could solve. Also in the cast are Robert Patrick as tough-as-nails security agent Cabo Gallo and Katherine McPhee as Paige, a former waitress who translates the 'normal' world for the geniuses.

Always entertaining and interesting to watch
I loved this episode and series as you can actually learn something from it, and it is always so entertaining! The scientific knowledge, combined with how important emotions are is what kept me engaged throughout all seasons!

World Class Minds working at Half Capacity
Scorpion is a Macgyver-esque tv show for the 21st Century, Led by Walter O'Brien a man whose IQ is higher than Einstein his team of super-geniuses is recruited by Homeland Security agent Cabe Gallo (Robert Patrick) to help solve Complex and High Tech threats against the USA.Making up Team Scorpion is Happy - A mechanical Genius, Toby - A world class shrink, Sylvester a human calculator with some interesting OCD issues and rounding off the team is Paige a waitress who is recruited by Walter her young son is a genius and Walter offers to help her understand him if she helps them understand the normal world.Scorpion is a brilliant concept that works well because of the various characters and their interactions with each other, the humour is most times on the ball and the plots for the most part are truly over the top and despite the need to suspend belief this is what makes the show work, it's also refreshing to see Paige "the non-genius" get moments when she truly adds that 1% of inspiration to the teams 99% genius to make a plan come together A-Team style. The show does have some problems which is why i gave it 4 stars but they are thankfully few and far between, a couple of episodes fall a little flat but a fairly strong first season will i hope lead to a better second season as the show gets to expand on threads and characters that it has already established====================================================IF YOU'RE GOING TO MARK THIS AS UNHELPFUL CAN YOU PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT SO THAT I CAN MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO FUTURE REVIEWS. THANK YOU

A really good series
Quirky,a bit repetitive, the characterisations are good, and I enjoyed Season One.The problems of hyper-intelligence were shown and the interplays between the characters were accurate for the conditions portrayed - the telescope effect whereby one is really intelligent and incredibly stupid at the same time, because one's abilities lie in a narrow field of view as though one is working within the viewing field of a telescope, while being unaware of social interactions or the realities of everyday life and personal management were brilliantly played by the actors. My own IQ is 180 and I am high function autistic, I would, if I could, give away 40 IQ points in exchange for more social awareness.

Not to be taken too seriously, but highly worthy of your viewing.
I found this enjoyable. The characters draw you in. The stories, yes some what unrealistic most of them, are good fun. Enthraling. You can't help yourself, but watch multiple episodes in one sitting. It draws your attention, well it did mine. Each episode is something new, but continues to develop the characters more, revealing more about them.A good amount of action with spatterings of humour added in. Drama is always just around the corner too. However, this isn't a show to be taken too seriously. It's a good fun, lighthearted mind grabber; that passes the time. Afterwards you don't feel you wasted your time on mindless drivel, but watched something, not spectacular, but worthy.I can't wait for season two, mostly for the characters. It's going to be fun.Recommended.

POTENTIAL YET TO BE ACHIEVED?
Walter O'Brien (IQ 197) heads a small team of fellow geniuses, they a boon to authorities facing problems requiring awesome expertise. All lack social skills. Special Agent Cabe Gallo paves the way when coping with officialdom; "normal" former waitress Paige smooths contact with ordinary people too often put off by their overbearing attitude. Of special interest is her gifted little son Ralph who could eventually outshine them all....Intriguingly Walter O'Brien actually exists, the series often inspired by cases he handled.22 episodes. Robert Patrick adds substance as Agent Gallo. Paige and her son also appeal. The succinct start to each episode is excellent - within seconds, a clear introduction to characters and theme. Stunts impress. Also of interest are the back stories of some characters - especially those of Gallo and O'Brien, a certain matter between them ever likely to resurface and renew a great rift. Those are the strengths. All is not of such quality. Some of the acting elsewhere is best politely described as just about enough to get by. Too much dialogue istrite, certain attempts at humour dire - especially when involving two rather irritating members of the team. Worst of all is the ubiquitous, intrusive "music" track. Well done, those who could take it in their stride! Others may find it driving them to distraction, especially when unnecessarily accompanying dialogue.Bonuses include commentaries, interesting features on cast and characters.Fans have enthused, others expressed reservations. I am among those who found too much uneven, just occasional hints of how good the show could be. If the overall standard could rise to that of Episode 12 and the suspense-filled finale, "Scorpion" would be propelled into a higher league.
