Manhattan T4 Freeview Play 4K TV Box, Black

Purchased this to replace our old chunky Humax 2000t Freeview box, which had a problem receiving terrestrial signal - many digital channels like Really kept glitching and frequently lost signal.This nifty little Manhattan T4 however, was easy to connect, auto-scanned channels on first boot and had strong signal on all channels.Simple and does the job. Exactly what we needed.

Very good performance ease to use but don't have netflix or youtu.be or amazon apps .bit of letdown.

Easy to set up and a great choice

I bought this when, for no reason anyone can find, we lost Freeview aerial reception. It does give me the core Freeview channels via streaming, so it solved the main problem, but its design and operation leaves a lot to be desired. I suspect some (but not all) of the problems are down to the individual channels' apps rather than the box itself, but as a former software and UI designer I'm appalled at how bad a job, collectively, everyone has done. They have made that most basic of consumer services - broadcast TV to the home - complicated and unreliable. The box sometimes spontaneously reboots. Channel 4 often gets 'stuck' on ad breaks requiring you to come out and go back in and resume. The EPG seems to want to download over the air (which doesn't work for me) rather than over the Internet, which means I don't get the benefit of an integrated multi-channel guide, and of course the UI of each channel is different. Why do I have to sign in every time? Why do some channels have subtitles and others not? Why does the box sometimes not respond at all requiring a power cycle? Why is live streamed TV only available in iPlayer? I bought the T4 because reviews suggested it had the best integrated interface across channels. That may be true, but the 'best' is nowhere near good enough.

Great if you like a box that does random things.Randomly switches off.Randomly gives you a black screen.No apps such as YouTube or Netflix.Randomly can’t connect to WiFi.Says you can use the remote to control your tv but doesn’t.All for the great price of 70 quid!

Nice compact box. Good addition to TV watching

I’ve had some issues but because of my aerial not the box so have had to buy an indoor aerial with bigger range. When I got my aerial to work, picture quality was good. The manhattan box is really compact so won’t take up much space at all. Has some apps like Iplayer and YouTube but doesn’t have Prime, Netflix or DisneyPlus which would be useful so don’t have to keep switching back and forth from console.
