I bought this whisk because I always see the sourdough reels where they have one and so it was on sale during Prime Days. It's made really well. It is very sturdy and does a good job mixing the starter into the water. It's at a great price point too. It's also a lot bigger than I expected.

I've had other dough whisks before, and needed to replace one that I used a lot. I was worried about getting one that was not sturdy enough to handle the stiffer bread doughs and batters I occasionally make. So I gave this a try. It is a fantastic dough whisk. It's heavy duty and sturdy, has a weighty feel in your hand (which is a good thing), is nicely balanced, and cleans pretty easily. (By pretty easily I mean, it's hard to clean sticky dough off anything, right? This whisk is much easier to clean than others.) It also has the perfectly sized handle. It's long enough to reach the bottom of a deep jar of sourdough starter, and thick enough to get a good grip with your fist if you're mixing a thick dough or batter. But it is also very manageable to handle between thumb and forefinger. One note: The glossy finish on the handle nearest the ferrule strips off pretty quickly after a few washings. I'm sure it didn't need to have a glossy finish in the first place. Not a big deal. Never leave it, or any wooden kitchen utensil, in water. And never wash it, or any wooden utensil, in the dishwasher. Wash it by hand, and quickly after using it.I enthusiastically recommend it to anyone. It's a perfect gift for anyone who enjoys baking and great gadgets.

6 months and a few dozen sourdough loaves in and this has been reliable and durable. I wash (rinse) by hand so I can't speak to its dishwasher durability. It's got enough heft to mix up a 1-2 loaf, moderate hydration dough without bending. Is it better than a large spoon? Yes, the wire is a bit more effective than a flat blade and the (larger) diameter of the handle is more ergonomic to get leverage over a typical wooden spoon.

I bought this to use with my sourdough baking endeavors. This thing is a HOSS. Very sturdy and can mix a really stiff dough. It has a thick handle so it's easy to grip and heavy enough it will hold up. Easy to use, instead of a spoon. I think it is money well spent.

Love it! I've had mine for quite some time now and it has stood the test of time and alot of use! Can't say the same for my balloon whisks though. Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical of its efficacy at first but quickly realized that its design is exactly what makes it more effective than a regular balloon whisk for heavy mixtures. It's more open and durable than a balloon whisk so it doesn't get clogged and weighed down making its mixing ability far for superior. It is comfortable to use and generally takes less effort to mix and scrape because it's sturdier to use than flimsy balloon whisk wires. A balloon whisk is still ideal for combining dry ingredients or whipping wet ingredients on their own. But a bonus for the danish whisk is it's also much easier to clean. A must have for avid bakers!

Very sturdy, the handle is a beautiful wood and the wire is a good thickness. Easier to clean than the whisk with all the wires. You also do not have to worry about the wire pulling out, while mixing batter.

If you're a sourdough maker, then grab this item. It feels so heavy duty and scrapes the sides down beautifully. The handle is a nice size and mine had been used a lot and still looks like new. I give this as a gift to anyone I give starter to.
