New for Christmas. Only used a few times. Jerky turned out great. Plenty of room for 4 + pounds. Recommended temperature and time was spot on. Very quiet. Stainless grates a real cleaning time saver. Did apples with same great success.

This is the ABSOLUTE BEST dehydrator I have ever purchased! I would even say it's WAY BETTER than the higher priced hyped up excalibur ones! I found myself going over a few times my first time using it to check to see if it was still on because it was so quiet! I have mine on the floor in my kitchen (small kitchen so it's the only place I have room) it's even quieter than a fan or A.C.! its similar to the hum of a fridge when in use, noticable only when focusing on it but otherwise lost among the sounds of daily life. so far I have done citrus, apples, hot peppers, sliced tomatoes, diced potatoes, sliced celery, diced onions, halved cherry tomatoes, and various flowers and herbs! So far its easy to clean, energy efficient, cost effective, doesnt create much heat outside the machine, and works like a dream! Greatest investment I've made in a while!

Overall this is a very nice unit. We keep it in an outer bldg so not sure about the noise but it is very easy to use. Holds a lot to dehydrate which we love.

I have been having fun with my dehydrator. It arrived well packaged and is intuitive to use.My only complaint is the control buttons seem more difficult to press than it needs to be. I had been using a borrowed Excalibur dehydrator, which I liked. I just couldn't afford it's the price. The Samson is quieter and seems to dry as quickly, but I've not used it that much (6 times, thus far). The only thing that caught me off guard is how much of a difference the shelf size makes. The Excaliber is 3" wider & 2" longer. I was debating on how many shelves would be needed. Glad I pruchased the larger unit.

The relatively quiet operation and power of this dehydrator are amazing. The metal mesh trays, mesh liners and silicone mats for leathers and sticky foods make this a versatile and terrific unit. I use mine several times per week and have a great stock of dehydrated veg and fruit and even powders.I live in a small apartment and run my dehydrator in my bedroom. I have indeed run it overnight and it was quiet enough to not be disturbing. Don't try that with an Excalibur which sounds much like an outboard boat motor.This is one of my best purchases this year.

We love this thing. I waited to write the review until we had used it for a while. We have had it about 6 months and have done everything from jerky to fruit. Plenty of shelf space. Works fantastic. Not silent but not loud at all. You can stand next to it while it is running and have a normal conversation. Overall we love it.

Worked average first week, door cracked, send a replacement, now dries uneven. Takes 17 hours to 80% dry bananas. Total waste and no one , not even Amazon will refund me. Even got extended warranty and it's totally useless.

There were not directions/instructions for everything. I had to go online and find the instructions for use. Booklet gave some directions, but were not correct. Some things had to be hydrated at a higher heat and longer than instructed.
