Does not have UK plug

After 18 months this product developed a huge bubble filled with water under the paint, a common issue. Eventually the bubble burst, leaving a large hole in the paint. We immediately emailed Smeg as it was still under warranty; Smeg took ages to respond and provided nonstop excuses not to replace the item before simply ceasing to respond altogether. That was over a year ago and they have simply stopped responding to repeated contact altogether. Once we provided everything they asked for as far as photos and documentation, they went silent.The quality and materials are simply not worth the price. I'll take this as a valuable lesson learned; we were considering outfitting our new kitchen with Smeg appliances, but I'll look for something more reliable from a company with real customer service instead.

Literally the definition of style over substance. All you really want from a kettle is to be able to open it to put water in and for it to boil the water. The mechanism broke after only a few months - it just jammed and you had to yank the lid to open it. Then the button that releases the catches inside the lid also broke so it wouldn’t even liftAs for boiling water, I have a £10 kettle that we use for camping that is both quieter and quicker for boiling. This one is so so noisy it’s unrealTerrible item

The kettle itself is perfect- but is supplied with a two pin euro plug! Contacted customer service whose response was basically- “what do you expect”.
